Anybody spray their stock turbo'd, bolt-on equipped GN? How do these things handle N2O?

Youve be better off running a tuned progressive alku setup... or spending the money you would on a nitrous setup at a bigger turbo.

It has been done in the past but the stock turbo with its small turbine and small a/r choke the hell out of t causing extremely high exhaust pressures. You would need a big wastegate puck and the hole opened up a lot to avoid overspeeding if you plan on using the N2O with the stock turbo.

Hello everyone!! i am new to the site. but i was handed down a 1985 buick grand national with t-tops, by my father. great high school grad gift. dont you think!! i do not have plans to sell. i know what i have. i want to rebuild it my self little by little, take my time with it. the only downer on this is that when it was givin to me it had a 1987 350 out of a camaro. i have the stock buick gn 200r4 tranny but would like to get a1987 v6 turbo engine. with the computer and wire harness. from a gn not a cadi or rivi. these motor are not easy to come by. i leave for the Marines 1 month and 3 weeks. and would atleast like to have the engine by then.CAN ANYONE HELP ME!!

I had a 75 shot on my stock GN back in the late 80's. All it had was a dump, K&N, XP pump and a chip along with the 75 shot and it ran 11.80's @ 114 on 26X8.5 slicks.

First off congrats for becoming a Marine.

Not to piss on your parade but to convert your car over over to an '87 style set up will require some work. Not 100% sure but I think you'll end up having to replace the wiring harness and some other stuff. I've not done it myself but I talked to someone who did convert an '84 over to an '87 set up....guy said he would've been miles ahead to have just sold the '84 GN and gotten an '87 GN.

But if you're still hell bent on doing the swap I'm going to say hold off until you're past boot camp and all, take out a loan and buy a donor car that still has the engine, trans and intercooler/plumbing/ECM/wiring in tact...

Or you could just keep what you have and make it run. I've heard of some folks running hot air cars making some really good times.

Call brian at G bodyparts, he has a kit put together to convert to the 86/87 set up. Trust me, this is the way to go, been there, done that.
