I am going with a friend Thursday night to dyno his 86 T. This is the first time to dyno a TR for either of us.

Any tips would be great.

What speed to start the pull?
How long to pull, etc.

This car has the following:

Stock unopned 30,000 mile motor
PT51 (26psi. boost)
V2 front mount
Hemco plenum
50# injectors
JL race chip
TH DP (open dump)
340 and hot wire
Ram air
Level 10 shift kit
JW 10" 3400 converter (non lockup)
Air bags
ANS boost controler

This car runs 6.90's in the 1/8th @ 101mph

You going to the one in Belmont Chris? #1 thing is don't touch the brakes. The Dyno will stop it for you. Your gonna wanna get into 3rd and ease into the throttle so you don't kick down and nail it.

Let convertor cool down by running it a minute or two after each pull.

We are going to a place that builds race motors about 50 east of Asheville on Hy. 221. I can't remember the name of the place.

He has three big fans that blow on the car.

What RPM will we need to stop pulling at?

Will be running around 26 psi of boost.

dont stand in fire zone of the dump pipe .... hot turbine blades would really hurt to get it with...:D

Don't forget the good gas or alky. Make sure the car is set properly for the street or race tune you will be running.

If you are mixing race or unleaded GT100 with whats in your tank, mix it well on the dyno by running the engine a bit before thinking of testing.

Tools to adjust fuel pressure and wastegate rods should be at hand.

Watch the KR meter or scanmaster.

I'd stop at 5.5K for sure.

I knew Red would have a reply about the PT51.:D We will be driving the car to the dyno. The trip is about 48 miles. This will give the 112 race fuel time to get in the lines.:) We will drain the 93 out with a pump and put the 112 race gas in before we leave.

This will be a race set up. We will make a few hard 3rd. gear pulls on I 40 before we get to the dyno. The set up should be close. I was thinking no more than 5,500 rpm's. @ 26psi. of boost on the pulls.

I will let everyone know what kind of power we make.
