Another update

Pulled out the valves and did a little valve lapping, just enough to knock off all the rust and make a good seal. Valve springs are back in and new intake seals in place. Got all the scratches out of my oil pump cover and instaled pressure spring. Going to stick the heads on today.

Before I get too far, there isnt a specific "right" or "left" cylinder head is there with these motors?

Might get this motor in before July 4th :D

Thats what I thought.

Got a lot done Friday. Just gotta stick the spark plugs in, put on distributor, and rob the wires off my 455, then its ready to stick in the cutty!

Looks like an engine again.lol Make sure to prime it before you put the dist in or you may have problems getting oil presure. I like your stand. An interesting idea and it doesn't take up a lot of room. You've got a few of us waiting for the results so get it in and see what happens.

Yes, the timing chain has the tentioner on it. Just about stuck the timing cover on when it seemed like it was missing parts.

That engine stand it super handy. Dad always wanted to build one but never needed one.

I forgot to ask, is there a part# for a turbo oil train tube? Mine is broke off and I need a new one. I've looked a little and havn't found anything.

Update-Trans is on and all i need to do is install the turbo to intake gasket and bolt the turbo parts to the motor and tighten down some of the accesories. The 455 is hopefully coming out Friday.

Hope you have the correct frame mounts for it. Glad to hear you're plugging along still.

I got the pictures from my camera uploaded. Got the motor off the stand, on the flatbed, and ripped all the stuff off the 455.

The motor is in its new home! BTW, what is a good radiator for this motor? The rad that came with the 455 is too big, and the aluminum one that was in the back seat when I got the car must not be the stock one as it doesnt sit right. Also, any spark plug wire sugestions? Thanks.

If the 455 radiator mounted in it ok I'd use it for sure. These cars need as much cooling as they can get so bigger is a real plus. Other than that it looks good.

Problem is that the rad that came with the 455 let the thing get into the 240's easy. Plus it doesnt fit very good.

No, no ESC box yet. Shouldn't be too hard to get though. Just have to talk to the guy that the motor came from.
