Hey im wondering about the slow blinking lights on the turn signals. When I turn it on it blinks alot slower than any other car on the road, and it drives me nuts. Mine will blink once and everyone elses will blink about 4-5 times before mine blinks again. Does anyone know why this is or how I can fix it.

Thanks
chris

Mine blink slowly also. My LeSabre T-Type is the same way. I've been thinking of replacing the flasher units (in the fuse panel that make the lights flash) on both cars but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Make sure you have the right bulbs it too. As per the other post recently.

Well i put a new flasher in it and still didnt fix it. All it does now it blink twice and then waits for a long time and blinks again. Now i will try some new bulbs in front and back.

Which flasher did you replace? The one in the fuse panel or the one near the steering column? The one in the fuse panel is the hazard flasher and the one near the steering column (under the dash) controls the turn signal. So if you replaced the flasher in the fuse panel thinking it would help the turn signal, then that may be the problem.

Yah i replaced the one in the fuse pannel, i didnt know they had two different ones. Today i will go out there and look for the one near the steering column.
Thanks

Underneath the dash, between the radio and the steering column is the flasher (this is the one that controls the turn signals). It is held in it's own holder (metal spring clip). It is closer to the steering clounm than the radio. Sometimes, you need to remove the lower vent panel to see it.

Yah that fixed it the one right next to the steering column, Thanks very much. Now it blinks like everyone elses car on the road.

Well, I'll be dipped!
I never knew there were two separate flasher units! I would have replaced the one in the fuse panel also had I not went back and read this thread. Wiring diagram shows them both, but I never would have noticed that either had I not known. Many thanks for the info. I haven't been to visit my GN for a while, but next time I do I know the first project that's getting done on it now!

any part #'s or locations that you guys got these.... im just so tired of the local parts guy....

I checked NAPA and Kragen online.

NAPA part # is:
NF LF12K - $11.99 - flasher/turn signal (loud flasher kit)
NF LF12 - $10.99 - flasher/turn signal (loud flasher)
NF EL12 - $10.99 - flasher/turn signal (electromechanical flasher)

They are all made by Tridon and are all the better heavy duty electronic (electromechanical) flashers, not the standard duty old (thermal) style.

Kragen also has some of the same, plus a couple others online.
http://www.partsamerica.com/SelectP...hfor=Flashers&destinationpage=SelectParts.asp you'll have to input your zip code and then year, make, and model of vehicle - then the page will come up.
They have the standard duty flashers as well as the EL12 and LF12 listed above. The EL12 is the same price, the LF12 is $8.88, so a little over $2 cheaper. The standard flashers are from $2.99 to $3.59 for the proper units depending on whose name is on the package it comes in. Tridon number is 552, Borg Warner is FC552 (most likely both made by Tridon anyway).
Check elsewhere online for more.
