I come out to my car after work today and there is a note on the car and the lady from the building across the street comes out and tells me someone backed into my car. She got the lic plate and description of the pickup.

Damage is pretty minor (need a new header pannel, possibly grill and headlight bezel).

How much does it usually cost to have it replaced? I've already reported it to my insurance and am going to persue this person and either they or their insurance is going to pay for it. One problem is the paint on the car is pretty bad, so if they just paint the header pannel its not going to look right.

Anyone know of any good SoCal autobody shops to get estimates from?

Argh.... Merry F'n Christmas!

Got hit today...

I feel for you. My T got hit a few years back and no one told me for at least 6 hours and it was done by a guy on a mountain bike who lived behind where I work and he caved in the whole quarter panel behind the driver's rear tire. I saw him a couple times and then he moved before I could find out his name. At least that lady got some info for you. Hope it works out for you. Mine came out of pocket.

If he hit your car and HE didn't leave that info, call the police immediatly. That is hit and run and he is a scumbag for not leaving info. Someone was using my work truck last sat cuz the wife was delivering and he hit a parked car (tail light and scratched bumper), He called and told me he was going to leave a note and I called and told him to call the police and have them make out a report. I hate scumbags like that...

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope you catch that scumbag. Moreover, I hope that person has enough funds to fix you car right.

What did the note say?

If it didn't have his name and phone #, you need to go after the rat bastard. If he left his contact info then great - collect under his liability. You shouldn't have to pay a dime for any of it.

Jim

He didn't leave his number, but the people in the office across the street got the description and license plate #. Monday I get to take the info down to the police department. I think the guy works in my building.

Found the guy who hit me today. He has insurance.

Anyone work with Geico for claims?

The damage is, the grill was chipped, header pannel broken. one headlight trim was cracked.

I want to replace with all GM parts (no reproductions)
