hey guys i was wondering if anyone has this turbo and if they could give me a comparison of spool up between gt42-76r and other turbos? i heard this turbo especially in bb spools like mad ? i know cam and converter affect spool just wondering what it might do in a 274? ive heard it will spool just as quick as a pt72gtq?

A good friend of mine switched from a 76 to a 42bb. It's a stroked stage 2 block with GN1s. The car does spool awesome. He sold the 76 turbo to his friend who also runs a stroked stage 2 with GN1s. The other guy has driven and raced both cars and he likes the 42bb a lot better! The guy that has the 42bb has kept it on one car but went bigger with the other stage 2 car he has but it's a big stroked stage 2 headed beast. He's shooting for 8s.

I have a non bb 42-76 on a 260 cube motor. 4400 precision stall.

Its spools almost as fast as my te-60 with a 3000 stall. In first gear as it nears 15 psi, it spins the 325 drag radials. A bb might spool too fast for the street.

It will prolly spool faster than his 72.

thats freaking insane!!! how many sec does it take from o-15 lbs at a stoplight, by throttle only?

Just past the 60 foot from a dead stop. 3-4 seconds.

thanks for the info brother! thats freaking fast!!! cant imagine what the bb would do? but its got to be crazy! im thinking dans 290 stroker kit, race ported t/a se alum heads,gt42-76, 93+alky @20 lbs boost in a 3250lb gn should easily hit low tens, high nines!
