headers red

sunday i was start the beast to brake the non roller cam but after few minutes my atr headers turn to red they were looking very hot. i bought these headers use last winter never use before. car running 30 minutes at 3000 rpm , temp was 190 degre. is it normal?

It's completely normal. I've never seen headers not glow while breaking in the cam.

yep normal ...sitting still they have no air to cool them down and these motors at a cruize (no load) run on the lean side which raises exaust temp.
