Well I keep reading that message at the top of the page that says "why don't you say hello", so I have a question.

I've searched the forum and Googled it but can't find anything to show me what I bought. I'm building a TH400 and I bought some frictions today that where sold to me as Borg Warner Hi Energy's. I've never seen one so I have no idea. The frictions I got are not grooved, gray, and have three puzzle shaped joints on each face. Both of the guys working the counter swore they were the real deal but they sure look cheap to me. No packaging, no markings. Maybe someone here can figure out what I have before I make a mistake and use 'em.
I've never seen a disk with a joint on the face.
I've been reading here for weeks and have enjoyed learning from you guys. Many thanks and "HELLO". Don, Shreveport, La

Your description is in line with what is known as high energy material. There is the Borg Warner and the Raybestos types. The Raybestos type is more of a marble finish.I prefer the Borg Warner. It grabs faster than the Raybestos type.

back at ya,

Thanks for the info Chris. The BW's are installed and I also used the case-saver snap-ring support thing that I ordered from you. Its the "L" shaped tab that bolts on place of the front band pin. I can't remember what you called it. Nice part but .015-.018 short of touching the ring. I was using the heavy, thicker type ring too. I bought two of them and tried both but they didn't touch. Guess it will help but you might want to let your supplier know. No problem, just feedback.

I thought I must have pissed someone off or broke some newbie rule since I got no reply for the first three weeks. Maybe there is hope.

Hope anyone reading here has a great holiday. Don Stamper
