I came home last night, Everything working great, Got up this morning and brakes are really hard to push, Like brake booster has gone bad. How can I determine if it's the booster or not?

Thank's Dean

If your car is like mine and almost everybody elses, its most likely the pressure switch or accumulater ball,Id try the ball first,I think its around $200,if that dont work take it back and get the switch, same price I think.GOOD LUCK!!!

ok, this may help, unscrew the accum. ball turn it up side down for a while then put it back ont the car this may fix the issue, if it dont its prolly a better investment to get a vaccum setup on the car. its simple and easy to do. there is plenty of post on how to do it if your scared.

my vote DITCH the PM set up!

There is a procedure for unscrewing the accumulator ball!!!!Pump the brakes with switch off aprox:25 -30 times first!!
If you need accumulator or switch I have 1 of each, let me know.

Ok guy's, I'll try unscrewing the ball and turning it over. I had a friend that had a pump and we tried it but it didn't fix the problem. I'll keep everyone posted when I figure it out.

Thank's for the help.

Just two questions? Do you mean take the ball completely off and lay it down with lable to the floor? Or unscrew it a little and turn one half turn from position it's in now?

Ok, I screwed the actuator ball off and turned it so the hole was facing down and let it set in front of a heater for about 45 min. I then put it back on the car and tried it as soon as I put it back on and it didn't work. I waited about 15 min. and tried it again and it worked! Does this mean it will keep working or should I replace it?

Thank's Dean

The brake light coming on intermittently usually means that the accumalator is going. I had the same problem. Put on a new one and no more problems or warning lights. Below are the two of the cheapest sites I have found for this part.

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/

https://www.partszoneonline.com/index.php

The part number is 18038507.

For a $100, you will sleep better at night knowing that you will be able to stop once you kick some Mustank @$$.

Thank's for the link's. I figured it was probably going bad.

Thank's again:rolleyes:
Well its only MONEY!!
Right?

for a 100 bucks peice together a vaccum set up. dont bother with the PM any more its CRAP plain and simple! get the booster and master cyl. from your local parts store, and the pedel assy. from a bone yard and sleep better knowing this will never giveyou any issues!

screw the PM. it went out on me once and that is all it took!
