HELP.. tranny problem after Rebuild

Just got this thing back in after a rebuild (myself). Just put it in yesterday and is not working correctly.

I have 3 problems

1. When putting the car in gear (D or OD) from N or P it takes longer than normal to go in gear about 2 seconds. Reverse is normal time.

2. When appyling aound 1/4 throttle or more the car revs way to high and will not shift to 2nd and will go to the rev limit. Light throttle it shifts. If you lift off the gas as its approaching the rev limit it will shift. All other gears shift fine at all throttle angles.

3. No manual low/1st gear engine braking under 25mph or less it will not downshift to first manually. The car will downshift to first when stopped with gear selector in D or OD and take off in 1st like normal. And car will hold first gear if manually selected from a stop.

2-3, 3-4, manual 4-3, man 3-2, l/u all works fine.
TV adjust has minimal affect and every now and then it will hit 2nd at 1/4 throttle. Fluid still looks/smells fine, cooler was cleaned with trans cooler flush (only has aux) trans did not have metal when tore down just 100k and the 2-3 was slip/flaring (direct clutches were on the way out).

It has a Art Carr Hih Tech VB kit in it

The trans was built with PTS Extreme parts and a raybestos banner kit:
Psi Reg system
Billet froward drum and center support
Billet anchor pin
Wide band
Adjust servo pin with stock servo modded per Bruce
Roller low reverse center support
Alto red directs frictions
Alto red OD frictions
Raybestos clutches everywhere else
Hardned pump rings
All seals replaced
The small sprag /1 way roller was replaced (dont remember the area it was in)
 
Dropped the pan hoping the gov spring had popped.
Spring was in as should be.


Anyone have anything?

Update Pulled the pan......
Dropped the VB and removed the 1-2 shift valves, TV valve and everything was smooth and no burs slid fine.
Also pulled the gov, the spring was intact, weights, balls, movement, seals and gasket all as it should be.
All check balls in case and VB were double checked for proper placement and all were in the correct area.
1-2 and 3-4 accum sprngs and pistons were as should be.

After everything was reassm... test drove the car will not shift to OD now just holds third, I tried all the way to 5100ish rpm and no shift to OD.
And the 1-2 anything other than slight throttle no shift to 2nd is still there.

I am wondering if the PTS PSI reg system is just too much PSI and screwing things up. The car was perfect before except the 2-3 shift.

Please throw me a bone here having to ride my motorcycle till this gets fixed.
 
Post your line pressure both at min T.V. and max. T.V. with the gear selector in all gears. Does sound like your line pressure is way too high. :confused:

Thats the next thing I plan to do, gotta track down my bud and get his psi test kit.

What do you do if its too high???
 
TTT anyone have anything else/possibilities other than check PSi till i can get a gauge
 
UPDATE...

PSI tested

All PSI are good (man 1 and 2 are 180-200 and jump to 260 with min throttle rest are 100 and jump to 200)when throttle applied. WOT psi is 180 in 2-3

Also having pump growl (like when you pull tv to max at idle) in 1 and 2 gear.

Dropped pan and found the drive 2 signal oil pipe not seated in the valve body on one end and slightly bent not seating correctly.

3-4 shift valve in VB stuck, the restrictor under the valve was in to deep and binding the valve.

Going to pull the reverse boost valve out and put the stock one back in to lower the system psi some and try again.

Where can I get the restrictor at for the valve body or do I need it?
