i finally got the ck stage 2 and 2800 stall converter installed on my car today. but ive got a small problem, every time i go WOT it spools and around 40 mph it starts to pop badly out the exahust (sounds like a jake brake) but my scanmaster says theres little to no kr. the 02 volts are alittle on the rich side around the 830s.

i did some snooping around and found this

could this be my problem and if not where does it go? ive got it pluged off but i need to find where it goes, can any body help me out?

if this aint the problem what should i do next to track down the problem?

It could be the problem.
This tube connects to a fitting at the back (firewall) of the driver side valve cover. From the top of the "fitting" a black plastic line goes to the sensor(MAP) on the passenger fender that controls the factory boost gauge on the dash.

If that doesn't fix the problem, double check the grounds both sides of the back of the motor. Mine used to be run to the top tranny bolt along with the tranny dipstick, but i relocated them to the head, could they have loosened up? Check to make sure the braided ground strap didn't break or come loose on the back ofthe drivers side head as well during the installation. And if its been sitting a while, change the fuel filter just in case as well. The previous post is correct on where the vacuum line goes i believe.

i found where it connects right before i read this, i also was going to install some new plug wires but they gave me the wrong boots so im going to have to go exchange them:rolleyes: i did get around to replacing the STOCK:eek: fuel filter today.

i did notice that when i unpluged the wire at the coil pack the spark seemed weak. i know if its not grounded good at the plug then it will do that so hopefully a new set of plug wires will help me out in that department.

is there any thing else that i should look for and/or replace to get the car running in tip top shape.

run a ground wire at the base of the coil pack to the firewall.

if it pops at WOT, most likely its the coil pack and ignition module.
Do you have a spare to swap out?

no, i dont have spairs to swap out. but i do think its the coil pack and ignition module. the alternators going out to i can hear the bearing whining:rolleyes: just another problem to deal with.

i havent checked the grounds yeat because its rainy and wet out side, ill have to drive the car to work tommarow and then ill check it after i get off from the dealership, ill replace the wires while im at it.
