Breaking News! Nick Hogan has a yellow sports car that was just involved in an accident in clearwater. Bay news 9 did a feature on this car this week which is used in drifting events. It was just involved in a crash on court street and one of the two occupants was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. No word of which person that was.

wow, thats crazy...wonder if it was his fault?

hogan wreck

local news channel says that hogan was injured less. The passenger was critically injured. I went through this myself 16 years ago. Driver was not hurt and I was critically injured. Thankful to just make it out alive.

it was his son,

nick or mick, was speeding etc,
he (son) does drifting in a viper,

I heard on the fuelslut message board that he likes to street race...sucks for him.

If you ever watch the show there have been a few scenes where they show him acting like a jerk while he is driving the Supra. Yep, you cant drift on the street. Keep on the track. Better yet why not get into real racing. What's the purpose of Pro?-Drifting? To see how pretty you look while doing nothing? Darwinism at it's best IMO.

Sounds like Hogan Jr. is going to jail for injuring his passenger. F**k him. :)

sums it up :p

This is all the kids parent's fault. Listen up real close people, especially people who have money and a kid that is 16, or about to turn 16............................
STOP BUYING YOUR STUPID 16 YEAR OLD KIDS RACE CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is just a disaster waiting to happen!!! Not only are you putting the dumb kid's life in danger by putting him behind the wheel of a car that challenge an EXPERIENCED drivers skills, but now you went ahead and spoiled the damn kid for life. I mean if you drive a modded turbo Supra for you first car.......what do you have to work for and look forward to in life??????? Just plain stupid. I watched all the rich kids at my highschool get Mustang GT's and z28's and Trans Ams when they turned 16, and all but one of them got wrecked because the spoiled stupid kid was trying to show off and ran it into a tree.

Unfortunately most of cases you're talking about is a kid who knows nothing about cars and has no respect for them at 16. Then their parents offer to buy whatever car they want within a certain price range and of course they want something like a Camaro, TA, or Mustang.

However, there are those of us who respected cars before we were even 16 and got nice cars but treated them with a lot of respect. My dad got a new 1972 Firebird for his first car, it was wrecked once in 73 when a lady ran a red light and he t-boned her. He still owns the car today and is in the process of restoring it. My brother got a 1998 Trans Am for his first car (well he had a beater escort too but it was just the car the family passed around), it's been hit while parked by a couple people but nothing major. I got a 1989 Turbo Trans Am for my first car and I can tell you I probably take better care of my car than 90% of the people you would consider auto enthusiasts. I respect the car and I absolutley love it, I plan on keeping it forever just like my dad has done with his car. I've thanked my parents several times for getting me the car and I understand what they sacrificed in order to let me have it.

There are a few other members on here that got TBs or TTAs when they were 16, and I don't think I know of any of them wrecking them or just tearing the car up in any sense. So please, don't make generalized statements like 16 year olds don't deserve to get a car like a Camaro, Trans Am, or Mustang. I understand and agree that there are a lot of rich snobby kids that get nice cars and destroy them, but keep in mind that some of us are the future generation of this what seems to be dieing hobby.

I've got more to post but I think that's enough rambling and it should get the point across.

i still agree with Christophah. I bought my TR with my own money when i was 13. I have been wrenching on it till this day and now im almost 24. Car has never been wrecked.

First car was an 83 Chevy Malibu @16= run in with a telephone pole!!
2nd car @18 86 Mustang GT I did wreck twice it but little damage each time. Kids that young don't need 500 + rwhp cars!!! Unless you don't want ur kids around.

I think it all depends on the kids personality. I have seen some 16 year olds drive a fast car with respect and some that drive them stupidly. A buddy of mine still has the Mercury Cyclone that his dad gave him 20+ years ago but another guy I know rolled his dads GN back when it was new. The Hogan kid falls into the second catagory.

I think it's really up to good parenting. I've met plenty of spoiled kids who are handed nice cars and wreck them, but they are not taught respect all their lives and why would you expect them to have respect now?

I've met Jared (72 Firebird) and he's a real respectable guy. His TTA is the cleanest I've ever seen and its obvious that he has full respect for the car and its power. There's not too many people like him out there.

There are always exceptions, but as a general rule of thumb, I'm sure we can all agree that MOST 16yr. old kids are immature.......and I don't blame them (after all they are 16 years old...) I'm just saying that a 16 year old kid is more likely to kill himself in a 500HP car than an experienced 30 year old guy is.

Nick is actually great driver, has a pro license that although he struggled to get, he did earn. The fact he has a nice car, and very powerful would get anyone into trouble w/ time....young or old, mature or inmature. Also, everyone street races, admit it or not, you have or you would w/ the right car next to you. There is a forum here that helps you brag about it, so lets not be too quick to throw him under the bus for being, well, one of us. Bottom line is as a car guy, I respect what he built, what he knows and feel bad for what happened to his friend. Most of us have not gotten what we deserved in life w/ street racing, he got his though. Sucks, so I feel compassionate as someone who has been blessed to not get caught, hurt, or killed anyone.
Thats how I see it anyway.

I live here locally, and personally have met Nick while in St Pete. He's a really nice kid! What a shame. His Father Terry, Hulk Hogan is equally a really down to earth giant, considering his status and all. The other fella who was with him is in really bad condition. I hope and pray he pulls out of his coma.

I know it's not right street racing and all, but we all have done it at some time or another. If not, then you're just more perfect than I am.
