Damn that thing is crazy, toss it around like a ragdoll and it recovers. Dangerous!

That's just great. Let's hope China's not in line to get some..... I've never seen a JET fighter manouver like that. Just crazy. Now wonder Russia's been doing a lot of stupid things lately like buzzing aircraft carrier battle groups, and even military 'war' games!! Makes you wonder what Putin has in mind..... Whats that there saying about 2012!?

Ken B.

No need to fear that monster. They are making a crutial mistake with that display by showing their capabilites. If you notice, all of those manuevers were made at full Mil power. They are screwing up showing those moves. Tisk, Tisk.

You will never see the full potential of our latest aircraft at any air show for this exact reason. We've known of this aircrafts capabilities since the late 90's when they started showing off their earlier versions of the SU-35 & SU-37. It is a potent threat for the 4 Gen fighters don't get me wrong. (F-15C, F-16C, F/A-18 E/F) But nothing that our pilots can't deal with. Man the conversations I used to have with my pilots, about this very topic back the day. Good times... Good times...
You can bet your bottom dollar that China will be producing their versions of this very same fighter soon, if not as we speak. They are on very close ties with Mother Russia when it comes to the latest and greatest. India will be procuring them, as well as North Korea. Why do you think we are equipping our closest squadrons with 22's immediately? Not too mention the F-35s when they come on line will equip all front line units the Far East.

F-22A and F-35 will have no problems.
Everyone relax, we've got something for 'em all.
;)

Keeper of many secrets...

All that is great if your are trying to score points in an aerobatic competition, but that thing would be an EASY kill for an F-22, even in a close in, guns only dogfight.

Seriously.

For sure!! I especially liked the quote "These maneuver capabilities don't exist in any other aircraft in the world today.. "

Apperently the author hasn't actually seen what an F-22 is capable of!

Early 60's...

My rides in the RF102 was scary enuf to make one $hit his flt suit. I can't imagine what that mofo would do! Especially, after a night of drinking sake' and chasing oriental pu$$y:D :D
A ride in that 22 would be a WHOLE lot better than anything ol Eliot Spitzer ever got next to!
Talk about the warning on Viagra.. Just might apply to any guy that has the op to take a ride!!

No longer the keeper of secrets. [No point in denying our use of the McArthur revolver!!]:p :D

Thank God Major Gant stole the Mig-31 Firefox when he did so that we could get that mach 7 technology from those commies....

Bet that pilot in the video couldnt land and take off from an iceflow....;)

Cool aerobatics. Too bad (for them) we can track that thing from 250 miles away. Ok, actually space, but who's counting. PLUS.......in order to be a killer pilot, you MUST fly and fly and fly, and then fly ALOT more. The poor(actually broke is a better word) Ruskies, and the rest of the world, just do NOT have the budget to fly very much of at all. Simulators are a great way to train, IF you have them available, but they just can NOT equal pulling 7+ G maneuvers while trying to track that invisible airplane like the F-22 and F-35JSF. We also have the "Eye in the sky" and the eyes in space that keep our pilots engaged, and warned. We have the highest trained, best equipped military in the world. Too bad we "might" have to refuel them with Euro trash. (Thanks to EADS lobbyists and John McCains involvement with them. ABC News: McCain Under Fire for Lobbyist Ties Now, back to the Russian fighter.

and..............

I just heard we mothballed/ retired the F117 stealth fighter.
I suppose so we can afford more F22/F35's??
there is always more in the pipe, that you cannot imagine!

RUQWKNF is right.

Russia is in the habbit of showing off its newest fighter technologies in an attempt to intimidate or scare western nations. A past example would be the Egyptian pilot in a brand new MIG-25 buzzing Isreal at Mach 3+. The fact that Russia was producing a "super fighter" capable of such speeds sent shockwaves throughout western nations. This fighter was designed to intercept our supersonic bomber prototype XB-70 Valkerye and possibly the SR-71. It was later that we found out that the MIG-25 was doctrinally restricted to a speed of Mach 2.83 and if it held that speed or higher for any minute duration of time its engines had to be removed and scrapped.

Arn't fighter jets kind of "old school" anyways??

They're great for speed and all, but for general warefare... wouldn't you rather have 10 Apaches on your side vs. 10 of those jets.

1 Apache hiding behind a hill could proabably take out all 10 of those jets before they even knew it was there.

just my line of thinking... but that Raptor sure looks like it'd be fun to drive;) ;)

Apaches, PFFFFT! Stringfellow Hawk and Airwolf could handle 5 or 6 Apaches.

Dig a hole on the ground and stuff it with plenty of supplies and rations because its coming, the next big war is going to be fought over Oil as all these nations demand it more and more, if they cant get it we will go take it like we did with Iraq.. Also that Russian fighter plane is just sick, I hope none of the above mentioned Nations get thier hands on any of them but mos likely they already have.. :(

Secret revealed...Shhhh...

It's not a question of when.... China is currently producing SU-30MKs with TV technology as we speak. However, the last I heard from my sources, they were having some production issues with the Thrust Vectored engines.

For those of you who would like to really know what is going on in the Military Aviation world, there are two magazines that will keep you informed. Combat Aircraft and Air Forces Monthly. Both published in England and not sensored. Chock full of very useful info, as well as crash report news around the world. The public would be shocked to read about all the US Mil accidents that go unreported in the media. And unless you are in the Mil or have connections, these reports will continue to go un-reported.
