I started my header cleanup and opened up the tubes that meet the log. Heres some pics. The passenger side isnt done yet, but the drivers side is derusted and is ready for coating. I used citric acid for the rust, and it makes the cancer fall off.

Yes they did Charlie. Im going to finish the passenger side today. I thought i saw a thread where someone post some special paint they used, but cant remember what type it was. Anyone know the name of the paint. Thanks

I have used Eastwoods cast header paint. Held up very well. I even used it on the exhaust housing and it was still there after 5k miles...I have since switched to a set of ceramic coated Postons...But the Eastwood paint is a great product. ---Keith

Thanks im going to check it out. I just need something that will hold for a while. Ill be building my own sometime in the future. I just want to finish this car, so that i can drive it this summer or sooner.

Boy does that citric acid work. It pays off to have a chemist at work. I put the header in at about 3:00 p.m. and took it out at 7:30 when I took it out it looked rusty still. Then I took the garden hose and all the rust washed away. I cleaned up my passenger side today, but left it at work so that I could weld the hole shut. Ill post pics tomarrow night. For future reference who makes good thick header flanges. Thanks

Heres how passenger header looks. I wonder how much of a difference doing this makes.
