how do so many people confuse the words "sale" and "sell"?

I sure am glad I'm not the only one this bothers. I posted a similar post over at V8buick.com months ago, and I was told to lighten up. It drives me nuts.
The other thing is when people can't type an ad in sentences. A couple of well known builders on here are guilty of this, and for that reason, I won't even look at their ads. Reading them gives me a headache.

I got scolded on Facebook for pointing out that there is a difference between Breaks and Brakes. Was told "People don't come here for a English lesson". "I beat the Breaks of that G8" was used and multiple "break upgrades" post. I have come to the conclusion that most people, NOT ALL, on Facebook are retards anyway!

They may not have went there for a English lesson but they damn sure needed one. I can't stand FB.

THANK YOU. I briefly took english classes in college when I was considering a degree in Literature. Soon after I decided I wanted to be able to get a job and changed my degree. I'm no grammar nazi, and I can hardly arrange comma's correctly especially online. However, at least I know the difference between their there and they're. Also, english is technically my second language and I grew up in "da hood" of Detroit.

I must be way behind times but "prolly" seems to be the replacement for probably.

you jus can't fix stupid thats why..... I LOL every time I see that as well. I mean shit its not like were referring to BIG fancy words here.....

This is the direction communication is going unfortunately. I'm in a median age group for the AF at 33 (probably on the younger end of this forum, I'm guessing). I have guys about to retire in their late 40s early 50s and 18 year olds joining up. Sometimes the younger crowd will have to put pen to paper and/or send professional correspondence. When they do, they horrify me on what the think professional is. This disgusts me often.

Look, typos and careless typing is excusable to a point. This is just laziness. Professional communication in an official capacity is also being neglected. That trickles down to a forum like these or sexting the booty call. I try and guide them to separate the two but it's a foreign concept.
