How many guy running 4.1, and how they running?

Got my first victims, this guy sprayed, and i pulled away from him so hard i had to slow down to make it look close, but he said he saw my nose drop. Anyway i think this engine has maxed out my fuel system. Do i need to get a dual nozzels for my alky kit? Im right at 780-800 on O2s when i go to 20psi. Also i can get Meth, but do i mix it 50/50 with water? I think it will take out my alky pump if i runn it straight.

Are you tuning with jut a scanmaster??
 
I have a direct scan, but ive been just using my Scan2.0 for now, because the Volt booster kicks off my Laptop, to many volts!
 
This engine is great! I have a MAF problem, but i keep wondering what it would run like if it was a stroker? For now im almost affaid to turn the boost up to 25! Im still running it at 19-20, and it's getting faster. Anyway, how hard, and expensive is it to upgrade the MAF?

Yep still got them running strong. I had a friend of mine who owns 2 GNs help me tune it incase i was leaving anything out, and he was blown away how well the car perform on just 19psi. 11.72@120mph, 7.77 1/8@93.9mph. He said add some racing gas(to be safe), and turn up the boost! Even tho he said he didnt think the trans could handle much more, it flashing from 2nd-3rd:mad:! It causing the car to over rev! Any idea on the fix, or i just got to break down and try these high dollar trans? That the bad news, but i have good news! I found another 4.1(291)std bore, engine at the pull a part today! $158. I plan to try a stroker kit in this one!
 
RJC deep pan hitting main studs?

Has anyone else run into this? I am using all 4 billet main caps, no girdle. I hate to take a hammer to a new oil pan...

Did you fix your problem? I have a stock pan, so dont know, but i woud shortin the stud on the end that go into the block, but you may not want to do that. Good Luck!
 
1chance: what was your bottom dollar to get the car rolling/tuned with a 4.1 (ballpark)?

$2500 aprox, not counting my labor, and the fact had to pay xtra for machine shop error.
 
I have an assembled 4.1 in the garage right now, just missing a ton of little parts, and have a bunch of parts that are in unknown condition (car was originally a hot-air, but I decided to go intercooled). Some of these questions might sound stupid, but my main goal is to have a drivable moving TR, I can worry about speed when I get out of school and (hopefully) have money. I went with this 4.1 because I got a great price on it, and figured it would make a great motor to have a little fun with.

Anyone running a close to stock or even stock turbo?
What are the lowest # injectors anyone would advise using?
What chips are you all running? Did you need to get a custom chip made, or will most of the chips out there work just fine for the 4.1?

Most of the rest of it I think I can figure out. I'll probably be using the stock turbo regardless, unless I just come into a lot of money.

The problem was actually the nuts on the studs hitting the pan. I spoke to Jason @ RJC about it. The pans were designed for 20 bolt blocks with a girdle. They will fit other things (like a 14 bolt with billet caps) but some reworking may be required. No big deal, I just hated hammering a new pan. Its a nice piece and I would definitely buy one again. And RJC's customer service is top notch.
 
Cool, glad to see it working out. Im dying to get a stroker for this other block i got!
