Just wanting to see what I'm missing in my combo to get BETTER 60 FT'S!!!!

I have H and R control arms, TRZ anti roll bar, Qa1 single ajustable's on all 4 corner's, Rear seat X braces, front lower cross bar, tubular uppers control arms and mods in sig.

Launching 3800 rpm's and about 8/10 lbs of boost.

Best 60ft ever was a 1.45, normally in 1.5's on Drag radails. Not a fan of slicks , Car gets way too Loose for me!!!

any suggestions GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

I went a best of 1.39 with all stock suspension including upper and lower control arms with stock bushings, no sway bars front or rear, 2 air bags and the hated pinion snubber, Phoenix 28.5 X10.5 slicks and good drag shocks. Battery in the trunk helps more than most guys realize too. Tires and shocks IMO are far more important than anything else

Thanks Mike!!!

I know tires are a big part, just cant do slicks ,the swaying on the top end is tough!! only 134mph but WOW!!

I love Drag radails what a difference!!!straight and stable!!!

Quess I have to play with the shock setting more!!!

thanks again!!

Try launching the car on the footbrake of you can, then the suspension is preloaded and does not get shocked from the trans brake. Make the front end loose so it comes up, remove the front sway bar if possible, if you have to keep it get some urethane sway bar bushings, ream them out and grease them so the bar moves freely to let the front rise. 90/10 shocks on front and 50/50 on the back off the foot brake, with trans brake mabey 70/30 on rear. Good rear springs of a constant rate about 140/160 lb may also help you on the drag radial.

Used to E-brake launch all the time , Solid low 1.6 high 1.5's, Did get a little better with trans brake, making adjustments to shocks next time out!!!

My thought's are that most people in the 1.3's have cage's, I don't want to do that to my car, I believe it's still a STREET CAR!!!

Have reinforced most everything I can, just have hit that wall and it's Killing ME!!!

thanks JD

Chris Hogelands car went 1.32-1.34 regularly with no cage. All stock shocks (or stock replacement) and springs. It does have HR parts control arms and ARB. Launching off a trans brake.

Suspension adjustments will depend on the point where the car spins. If it spins right at launch it could be the launch rpm is too high or the angle of the control arms are hitting the tire too hard.

If it spins 20-30 feet out the front shocks may be too loose. I found 90/10's were way too loose. The front end rises to quickly, slams against the bump stops and rebounds causing the rear tires to unload. 60/40 worked the best. Once you launch you have to have enough power to keep the nose in the air. If it ever settles back down the rear tires will unload.

get some good video of the launch, try to launch it 3 times in a row exactly the same. Post it here, and ask Dusty again..... :)

I hook consistant 1.37 sixty foots when I was running high 9's with no roll cage. I had drag shocks all around with a Wolfe bar on the car and the stock rear sway bar removed. That was done on 28"x10.5" MT slicks. If your concerned about the washy feeling that slicks have, you have options. MT also has stiff wall slicks that helps cars over 3000 pounds sixty foot better and gives more stability on the top end.

Thanks GUY'S!!!!

Will get video next time at the track!!!!

Also the pionion angle is at -3 degree's.

Used to bounce when I had air in the air bags, I pull shreader valve's out so no more bouncing!!!

Car lift's up and does stay up all the way down the track.

Have had the stiff s/w slicks, they where better, but really would llike to keep with the 275 drag radail's!!! am using Hoossier's now!!!

Lots of 1.4- 1.5 short times. Last time out, did a 1.39. Left off the trans brake at 15lbs boost. 275/60/15 MT DRs out back, with 20 psi in them. Rear shocks are Bilstein's. Fronts are cheepo Comp Engineering adjustables. Set at 90/10. Springs are 1" lower, Ibocks at all four corners (for handeling). Air bags have 10 psi in the left and 12 psi in the right. HR lower control arms. Metco adj uppers. Pinion angle is -2 deg. Old, used ATR sway bar in the rear (thanks Gary Wells:)). Front sway bar removed for track duty. Car has GNX braces, all front lower braces and no roll bar. Full weight car with AC and cruise. When not at the track, the Bilstein shocks and sway bar go back on the front. Then, the thing handles quite nice.;)

Time for an HR sway bar.

How do you guys get away with running those times with no roll bar? NED would boot you out immediately.

Small, private track rentals are best. Tinted windows help too.
