I just finally have my car running just great. I am stock turbo, heads and all. I have blue top injectors and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. There are some other things as well. I have the alky set up and am currently running 20 pounds of boost with no knock. Its nice, but how much boost can or would be suggested with my set up?
And one other thing, isn't the 85 MPH speedometer a joke?

Keep turning up the wick until you do get minimal knock, then turn the alky up.

wash, rinse, repeat

One more thing. It has been so long. I would like to check my fuel pressure. What should it be? And if I recall correcetly, I check it with the hose off of the top of it.

Check fp w/ hose off & set it to whatever your chip maker suggests....usually 42-43 lbs & your blm's should be close to 128 at idle..

Yeah the 85 mph speedo is a joke. Especially when your car goes so fast you have to rely on the Scanmaster to tell you how fast you're going.

Currently running 22-23 PSI on boost and Alky, sometimes I get a little KR and sometimes not but I think it has to do with drive line vibration.

i say it depends on your car. if its a low mileage motor i wouldnt run it over 20psi. now if its a high mileage motor turn it up to 22 or so. now if you dont care if it lets go keep turning it up. if you dont mind replacing head gasket keep going. i think 20psi max on alky myself but then again i like to drive my car and dont like down time for headgaskets and all that other jazz

my reworked 61 dont start singing untill 25#s but i dont press my luck althoughive had it at 27 many times

I found my sweet spot on the stock turbo and intercooler to be 23 psi, although I've run as high as 26.

Well said Boost231. I keep mine at 18-19 pounds.

oh 1 more thing shane has bigger nozzels avaliable then what comes with the kit i have im thinking one size bigger than the kit comes with and the biggest out of the kit also that i run non progressive coming on a 12to14 psi with the hobbs switch

What about if the engine is a fairly fresh rebuild? Do you still recommend 20 PSI tops? Is there really any worries about running it past 20? I mean i have mine set at 22-23....not really looking forward to blown HG's but I don't have it cranked up to 30 either.

I run between 23-25.5 on pump and alky with no problems. I alson run 1/2 timing at 26 and 3/4 timing at 22. I did blow a headgasket last year with a tuning error on my part, but I would not have blown it with out the mistake on my part. Other than that I have run at least 23-24 psi all the time since installing alky. When I really go out in kill mode is when I bump it all back up.

26# on the street and track with minimal knock. I saw 1.9 degrees once.

I also barely drive the car, it'll get maybe 500-700 miles this year.

You and I have very similar combo's. We have spoken before. Have you been to the track this year?? I am getting ready to go anytime. I was just curious. Thanx in advance Jason
