man we finally get this cold weather and i was told i should'nt run my car yet, i have only about maybe 200 miles on the new engine, we normally don't get weather in the 40's or 50's, i was told to have at least 500 miles on her before i go getting on it, do you guys think one or two passes will really hurt the engine? i say 1 or 2 but it's really 1 cause i have no cage. man the car feels so much better in this cold weather

It's 53 over here now... was in the mid/high 50's all day, nice... sunny.. cool air...

Supposed to get to 30 tonight.. have freeze warnings in effect, shelters are open for all the beachbums:p

The cold weather really wakes them up doesn't it:eek:  Combine that with nice, clear, dry pavement... good times:biggrin:

Might be tempting but I wouldn't risk it, don't want to beat on an engine too early in it's lifetime.

yeah, i'm afraid to run her but i do step on her every now and then, i don't stay on her for long but dam she feels good

Once the engine has a few minutes of run time and the oil has been changed and there are no problems its ready to be run hard. The a/f should not be too rich idling, cruising, or at WOT or it will have a negative effect on ring seal from the washdown.

My car is so freakin nuts in 80+ degree weather.......I'd be scared to take it out this evening. Supposed to hit 30 here as well. I remember with my old motor how I loved those winter temps in Virginia, really woke the car up. Now my car is aready way too powerful for the street, at 30 degress I'd likely get myself killed!!! Sh's staying in the garage for the next day or so.

We get that cool feel YEAR ROUND

I was once told by an engine builder that if anything was going to break it would have right away on start up.
I see those Good ole boys on horse power TV bolting new engines to the dynos after a good breakin period & tune..

If she is running hard I say give it a whirl at the drag strip. Only issues I find with cold weather is traction is tough.

It should be 7 degrees tonight... Weather just plain sux in New England! Ill be hard pressed to stay here in 7-8 years when I retire. My heat has been on like all day. It kicks in every 5 minutes it seems. My propain gauge is dropping like a gas gauge in a dragster....

4 deg tonight ,Florida guy get out those fancy leather jackets you own cause your gonna hit 60(yall are nuts) down there----ohhh its too cold......

ROTFLMAO!!!!!

I was freezing this morning..... and I actually had to get my leather jacket out to wear:D :D Stereotype...LOL.

My wife actually got her gloves out of the closet tonight for her trek to work in the artic tundra that will be 40° at 6am tomorrow:D

And to think... not 9yrs ago, I'd be running around in MI this time of year with a windbreaker and short sleeves.

-2 tonight.
Drove mine car to work with single digit temps.
The upside is, 20 tomorrow and 30's to 40' over the weekend.:D

Have Al Gore swing by and warm things up a bit for you! :p

I agree that you should run it like you stole it! The rings will seat MUCH faster under max boost.

I don't drive the GN with the salt around here but my turbo talon has had the boost lowered a few times due to the super cold 5 degree temp!!!

Watch your boost level guys, I normally run 24psi and have seen it go to 28psi due to the weather getting so damned cold!!!
