These were put on by the original owner probably 15-20 years ago. Wanted to remove them and put a bushing back in the housing with some tubular arms. Got the arm off but it seems the metal bushing installed in the rear does not want to come out. Has anyone ran into this before and knows a good way to get this out of the housing?

Not on my GN but on a Mustang, I had to use an air chisel and air hammer to push it out, with the right tool it came out pretty easy, I think that's what you'll need
.

it that's rubber around the metal bushing the air hammer may not do anything.

You can use a ball joint press to get them out as well as put the new ones in.

that under body needs a sand blaster budy and x2 on air hammer or ball joint press

why does it need a sandblaster? because it has some mild surface rust? that's just what cars that get driven look like after 1/4 of a century..

a balljoint press will get the job done, or rig up a bushing remover/installer with some pipe, nuts, washers, and hardened threaded rod... you're gonna need some kind of a tool to put a rubber bushing in, anyways, and the same tool that takes them out also puts them in.

I was thinking of using the H&R tool, but its not a bushing in there. Its a solid metal sleeve that goes through the whole ear. I guess its worth a shot.

Is the ball joint press basically the same as the H&R tool? Havent used one in a few years.

Just to update, ball joint press was able to remove the metal bushings and install the new rubber ones. Figured Id post so others know a ball joint press will work to remove/install the upper ear bushings.

As far as the anti hop bars, swapped them for UMU tubular uppers to match my lowers. Actually brought the ride height of the rear down a bit. Car also feels a lot looser in the rear end without the bars. Going to get a UMI 1" bar to try and tighten it back up a bit. Removing the bars did get rid of some vibration and the ride is a bit smoother however.
