Guys we will be getting this for a little bit, read the announcement at the top. In the long run, it will be worth it, all new goodies coming.

I skim read that post , but I am just tring to buy some things off of the board and it is getting frustrating...Thats all.

FWIW & IMHO:
None of my business here, and I am not ragging or flaming on anybody But I think that we are very fortunate to have any of these Buick boards to go to. How much did we know before we had the boards to go to. how would you like to go back there?
Speaking for myself, I wouldn't. We should be very thankful that we have the boards to go to, period.

Well if Travis, Wells, and TY would not post so much and hog all the bandwidth.. the board would move allot faster and we would not get all those servers busy windows! :p :p :p :p :p

No, not you personally, but yes, everybody in general, including myself. I am sure that we all enjoy the boards, regardless of quantative assessments. I just don't think that complaining about it will do any good toward getting it fixed. Not exactly uncommon to have server problems after just doing upgrades, or if Travis took care the upgrades, I guess that they could be referred to as downgrades. And you, also, have a good day, sir.
 
I am sick of hosting companies that handle big traffic users along with cellular companies getting a pass when their service sucks,.
There is no reason for a web site to be running erratic after a change or your cell phone not working.

Until people complain and bitch they will never change. They need to be held to the same standards as the local phone, power or any utility company.

Interesting that if your local phone drops a call people will bitch and complain for weeks but when your hosting service has slow service people will be ok because "it is always this way when changes are done".

When my cell phone does not work quit lying to me and spend the money on your network.

We are not doing the upgrades in-house. I will re-post what is above as many I guess have not read them.

We are very sorry the site went down on May8-May 9.
We are currently updating the server and the hardware associated. The latest and greatest stuff is just around the corner.
I know Bruce has been clueing you all in this would be talking place , so please understand and be patient. The wait will be MORE than worth it. In the next few days, this situation may arise again, but only, TEMPORARILY,from time to time. We are working hard to bring you a brand new state of the art new messageboard! Should be NICE!!

For right now,
The site is back up right now but limping on an ailing hard disk system. The RAID array should have worked to keep the system up yesterday afternoon but for some unknown reason did not. We are going to accelerate our plans to migrate the site to the new system. It is a dual P4 2.x Ghz system with 2.5Gb of RAM on an IBM blade chassis. We will convert the OS to FreeBSD and update the version of the site either before or after the migration depending on which is easier.
