Well I sold my Cherokee about 6 months ago to another soldier. I heard today he blew the motor, stripped it and had it crushed! Broke my heart!

RIP Big Red!!

If that's the case, it's a shame. It looked to be cherry! What kind of moron would part out something that nice just because it broke?

Only thing I can think of is it is so hard to get a AMC 360 over here. Shipping is a killer! I still would have at least called around or he could have asked me!

dont make sense at all?..if you cant find the 360,chevy power it,or anything, but to crush a vehicle like that because of any reason would be stupid...again if that is true...im guessing your old truck is fine...

Oh no! My friend saw it getting drug onto a flat bed going to the crusher.

so he had a sign saying"last stop before crusher"...or..."going to crusher"?..lol..jk...just sounds hard to believe someone wouldnt at least drop it off at a junk yard,at minimum,to sell everything off it and then keep the frame?...but anything is possible, just not likely over a motor, must have been totalled with frame damage..imo

i had built this sweet camaro and then my wife got pregnant and i put it up for sale, sold it to some 16 year old girl..i didnt want to and tried to talk the parents out of it,it was mint with a pearl paint job...1 month later a friend calls me and says he saw it all dirty with a big dent in the quarter panel,6 months later i saw it sitting smashed up to the front window in front of what looked to be a body shop....i know how you feel,i only hope it was fixed

Sounds like a real jerk if true. To do something like that proves you are NOT a car guy (wanting to drive a cool car does not make you a car guy). If you aren't car guy, drive a Civic and save the good stuff for people who care. Sorry. I would be very upset if I my GN or Malibu ever ended up like that.

Wow, yeah hard to believe. It looks like alot of money went into that truck between it being lifted and the paint job alone. Too bad, that's a cool looking truck.

If it made it to the crusher in that condition...I can almost guarantee that it was scooped up by someone who knows better.

Remember I am in Germany so there are about 3 of these in country. There are very few junk yards and they are nothing like ours. They have very strict enviromental laws so there are not many around. Also Army rules state that you can not have an unregistered vehicle so we get between a rock and a hard place. If we can not get our cars repaired, then we either send them back ($1500) or have them crushed! Yea it does suck, BAD! The guy I sold it too was a little young and had way too much deployment money.

Still seems like there had to be some other options???:frown:

NOT BIG RED!!!! I remember when you sold her. Did you get the parking brake problem fixed before you sold her?

Man that was a nice rig.

If I am not here I am at IFSJA.org

I am War Wagon on that board.

Jim

THAT is a real shame man :frown: ... Those old Dogs are HOT commodities here on the beach man...Especially one that looked that nice...If he had all that deployment cash he should have just dropped an old AMG or M V-8 in it.. :D
