so what's the story on this car?
condensed to a couple of sentences or a link to a thread where it was already discussed will be sufficient.

Geepers, this car again?
Pass the popcorn.

yeah, I know. Drama drama... That's not why it was posted tho guys. The only reason for posting was to show a couple friends the shape of the car. Please no drama in this thread, there is much more to the story than anyone has posted. It's a personal thing. Please don't get crazy on this thread.

As the Turbo Spins

I could never make heads or tails of the last thread.. went through 14 bags of Orvil Redenbacher trying too, then gave up

Wow, you bought THIS back from what it was before, why?

Why was the up pipe painted black?

Did you get it back after it was stolen, or sold? ---

it isnt the same pipe, someone took it off and put a black one on. i guess they didnt like the bling of the first pipe. the bend gives it away as not being the same one. also the length going down is much shorter. in fact i see two more that were also replaced. WTF? i guess they put crappy pipes on and sold the nice ones to make some money.

Although it doesn't look like much, it still has plenty of good parts. It has a well built motor, posi rear, adjustable suspension, the rims I had on it, and quite a few "go fast" parts as well. It is also a rust-free Texas car so that helps. My plan as of now is to strip it and start over....again. I just restored an 87 and will have room in the garage soon enough. There are alot of bolt-ons that are gone but most of the stuff is there. The guy that had it was well over 500lbs (seriously) and busted the drivers seat and tore the material and destroyed the interio I will have to replace the whole interior. :O

The pipe is different because the polished pipe was plumbed to a frontmount ic. The black pipe is plumbed to a stock location ic. That is not the same pipe painted black.
This car was stripped of parts and put back together cheaply.....frontmount ic has been replaced with something stockish ... the Ls maf has been replaced with a stock style maf ... redtop optima battery gone and replaced with something else. I've never seen thieves do this type of thing.

according to the original thread the guy who took it actually repoed it. probably took the good stuff off to make even more money from the car.

"As the Turbo Spins" - I like that. We need a thread in Feedback with that title. This way you come prepared with the popcorn and know what you are getting into.

All the mini-dramas can be placed in there until they are resolved....keeps it out of the "real" threads that produce results.

God I love this site.

Ok, this is the first and only time I will I will give my whole side of the story. I used to take my car up to Indy every weekend and met the previous owner there. We became friends and talked on the phone regularly. Brian (previous owner) contacted me with an offer. The offer was, his car for mine and 4000 dollars. When I went to his tattoo shop to sign papers for the car he described the car as follows, BRAND new motor and trans with under 3000 miles. He said it was super reliable and knew that it would be my only car for awhile.I agreed to the terms after being told that. I gave him my title and 1000 cash, he then gave me his title. I had the car two weeks and drove it less than three miles to work and the brand new transmission exploded on the way to work. Tough luck was what I was told. That to me was a fluke and I replaced the trans. Another week on the road and the brand new engine blew a headgasket (again on the way to work) the car was never driven hard, I never got the chance. I called Brian and told him that there was no way I could pay anymore for the car and he knew it was junk to begin with. I spoke with a lawyer and he told me to take him to court under the lemon law? I NEVER did that and don't want to take anyone to court but was perfectly willing to go myself. Please make your own assumptions. I had paid a ton for a car that was represented as something it was not. What would you do?

always liked that color on our cars.

so do you now hold clear title to the car in your hand? i never figured out what blupuick was doing with the car if he didn't own it either. i would think theres just way to many people making payments to differant people at the same time for a 25 year old $5000 buick
good luck with the restoration:)

First, the deal was for your car and $4000, not your car and $1000 dollars. The deal didnt go down as it should have in the first place. Neither cars should have changed hands.

2nd, the trans exploding, and the blown HG, you had money to fix that stuff and still had a balance due on the car? Did you to have a payment arrangement? Did you follow it, or stray when you had to dump unexpected money into the car?

3rd, the stolen/repoed/drama part of the story is missing. That makes it look bad on your part from an outsider looking in. We can clearly see parts are missing, and draw our own conclusions as to why.

You and I have had words before, I would suggest not doing business with friends if you want to keep them as friends when dealing with used parts, cars, or racing items. If you do keep it down to low dollar amounts the can be written off as a loss in the event it doesn't work out. I, as well as others know these cars don't blow HG from normal driving unless you overheat it badly, or boost it with poor tune or faulty parts.

In the end its your situation and not ours. I will be honest and say after seeing all the "drama" unfold with your car situation and the way you look at/handle things. Many will steer clear of you to avoid issues.
Was a very nice car though!
