I've been a tech to long to remember..but, one thing I do know. If it ran fine before I touched it and now it doesn't.... I screwed something up!!! Side note ,is that a Bosch platinum??? I've had nothing but bad luck with those. Glad you found it!! Phil.
Autolite Iridium....no problems with them...like I said, just a SMALL hint of a spit at the end of the track with the wider gap....stuck 104's back in for now set at .028....have to get back to track now.....

You did post it in the tech section. Maybe it should be moved to the lounge.....

Can't f@&^%&^$%cking HATE a "Classic automobile".Sorry, It's just not allowed...8^)

(i run NGK UR4's at .32)

p.s. Hand Tight, Quater Turn..Stay at 90 degree's or Snap.....if on #6...(Was this #6 plug you broke?) Longggg Extension an
swivel ,you'll see the path provided bent into the A/C heat sheild, rubber lined Socket a must..8^)

Enjoy!

Ok...let's try this AGAIN...i DID NOT start this thread for technical advice, merely to vent frustration....re read the FIRST sentence....the only people who i bitched at were those with smart remarks ...406 "I was picking at you".....NOT what you need when you're already torked up....I did not hear the plug crack, nor was it falling in pieces...if so, there wouldn't have even been a need for this thread.....

Too many people on this board are just incredibly rude and unreasonable. You can't reason with an unreasonable person. You have nothing to explain. You were never out of line. Too many of us have wanted to roll up in the fetal position and suck our thumbs in response to these cars. The highs and lows of owning and modifying a Turbo Buick can be more extreme than a crack addiction.

I'd like to see you gap your new plugs at .032" and see if you notice that same something. If you do,then tighten them up. Then you'll know for sure that the problem you had was fixed by tightening your plug gap.

UR5's NGK at .032, solved a misfire at high boost for me. And to all those getting upset, I like turbo Buick's you like turbo Buick's, we all like turbo Buick's so let's just get along. I'm glad you found the problem, it's healthy to vent.

Mass air flow, ignition module, coil pack, map sensor line cracked. Could be many things. If my car popped once I'd be under the Hood. You do need to be able to get some data. Guessing is expensive and time consuming.
Could also be from a bad TPS sensor with a dead spot. Figured it out with an OTC 4000.

Really the lounge!!!! Off topic.... Not WTF! What this guy needs is a "I love you man" lol
Relaxed..... Not

just when I thought the Honda forums were immature.

haha.. To the original poster. I feel your pain man. Sometimes my "Black Ass Maggie" pisses me off too. I just park her moody ass in her room for long periods of time to think about what a bitch she's being and take one of my many other toys out to play.

Its sacrilege, but if you don't want to drive more the wrench, turn down the boost a bit and enjoy. How fast do you really have to be :)

More boost = more wrenchin' time

well to make matters worse, just found tthe big fahking dent in the hood from the up pipe hitting it so hard!!!!

Take the hood to a reputable Paintless Dent Removal guy, he'll be able to help with that high spot.

Too late now, but I have a dent in my hood from my up pipe blowing off too. I now use double clamps on the pipe side. Haven't had it come loose since then. Good luck.

It actually blew off at the throttle body...in keeping with supporting my local zip tie factory, i put a large one around the up pipe and turbo inlet pipe so hopefully if it ever happens again it will hold back...

A clean pipe and coupler and a little hair spray will hold quite well with a single clamp.

I blew a inlet pipe off once, Was back in the early 90's when NOS came out with GN kit,Fogger nossle's in the inlet pipe. When it blew off,It snapped the fogger nossle in Half.Only left small dent in hood though, Use aircraft style hose clamps,Problem fixed!!

Enjoy!

I read this thread and I really wanted to be like you guys so I blew my intercooler pipe off this morning. It was the one coming out of the PTE front mount. The silicone hose ripped all to hell and the pipe got messed up tumbling down the road. Sounded like a shotgun when it popped. My coworkers heard it about 1/2 mile away. A quick order to RacePartSolutions.com and a little fab work and I'll be back in business.
