Many. Assuming you are not simply getting familiar with turbo lag. If you buy it, you will learn all about MAFs, TPS's, IAC's, etc. I wouldn't let it worry you, honestly.

these cars leak. they leak because they are sweating horsepower

The leaks are going to be found on many TRs. Try the cars for sale section in here...

OMG...you passed on a GN because it leaked? Man, you better start looking for a different vehicle. LOL!

Very funny, that cracked me up:biggrin:. I only have 27k miles on my GN and have a floor of cardboard in my garage because of the rear main seal and maybe the rear of the valve covers. The only reason the trans doesn't leak is because it's a bullitproof Jimmy's trans. In my opinion if you look at a GN and there isn't a leak - PASS ON IT!:)

I bought mine in January and have about 10 hours and about 300 bucks trying to get it to stop leaking. I've put 3 oil pan gaskets on it and my mechanic even did one for me. I finally said F_ck it!!! Then went and got some kitty litter for my garage floor.

Mine has 0, none, nada, leaks........

Maybe it is out of oil........

This car was misrepresented. I even talked to the dealer on the phone. Original paint-Found out it was repainted 10 years ago maybe by macco? Looks horrible and needed another paint job bad-was painted over some spots that should have been repaired. Not just a leak but a ton of them. and then the car would bog. Oh yeah then I found rust under the floor boards. Enough reasons for me to pass. On a better note I am now addicted after the test drive. I love it. I had a 1986 Regal through High School and always wanted one. Give me a couple of weeks and I will.

And thanks for the help walking me through what to look for I am ready for the next car. I think you guys are even better than my boat forum is!

Don't be afraid to travel for the right car. A plane ticket and a nice drive home is pretty cheap..

Good luck. Plenty of people here to check one out for you.

FWIW When my engine was rebuilt, I put oil in it and next time I came back to work on it, it was leaking, AND it had'nt even started up yet .

There are just too many great Gn's/T's out there right now for pennies on the dollar to waste $$$$$ buying a bad one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fords don't leak!

Just kidding, just kidding no one get their panties in a wad.

Too bad you're not close to Panama City, FL I know of a GN for sale here that's a 1 owner with about 90k miles on it. The interior is about an 8 out of 10 and the paint is about and 8 out of 10 also. It's also bone stock. The owner wants $10500. Has 0 rust from what I can see. The only thing some people might not like is that it's a T-top car. I really don't mind them though.

I could spot the repaint in the Ebay ad, but last time I gave my opinion and mentioned... "looks like a Maaco job", I got my butt chewed by other board members.

That's a nice one. I'd probably give them at least 15K for it. Not much more than that.

Have to say, I couldn't help but laugh hard when I read this, DD, I am sorry, I couldn't help it...and I thought I had bad luck!:p I admire your honesty. Thanks for the post...sad, funny, but true. You have my thoughts and prayers.:D I have no idea how much bad luck others have until they tell us about it. Makes me feel in the same boat and not alone. Thanks.
