Glad you enjoyed your trip, this IS the nicest time of the year! After May-forget it! The only thing keeping it from going over 100 degrees is our East wind coming off the Atlantic. Not to mention our friends that like to brew up in the Atlantic in the middle of summer.

Have at it, I thought the same when I moved from Michigan a couple of yrs ago.
If you speak the language, will work for 9 bucks an hr---providing you speak the language, like sitting through countless red lights, getting chased by the same rain cloud all summer long while breathing 150% humidity then Central Florida is for you.

Nice to visit to break up the winter but thats about it... I moved to East TN a few months ago and love it here.

I lived in South FL. for 10 years and can tell you it's a great place to visit on vacation but living there? No way, never again. Congestion, old people, rain, hurricanes, bugs, tornados, extremely high home owners insurance now, humidity so thick you could cut with a knife, traffic, crime.... etc.

Northeastern Tennessee sounds like the place to be. Low taxes, great weather, affordable housing, beautiful mountains, drag racing (Johnson City area), $1 goes a long way there. Parents are maken there way back there right now from SC.

I love it here in the tri-cities area... kingsport, weather is cold right now but its gripping the whole country.

I hear ya. Parents told me it was in the high teens today down in SC. Didn't think it ever got that cold there. Hot as balls in the summer tho. Could never live there.

East of knoxville looks real nice, all the way up to Johnson city-Gods country. I just would have to find work around Lake Cherokee or Lake Douglas(marine industry)

hmmm

I have heard it is not so nice in the summer.I am truly tired of the winter.Came home to 10 degree temps.I am a mechanic by trade and working outside to get the trucks started sucks.I have heard the Carolinas are nice, not so much humidity still cool but not freezing like here in the winter.Never been just heard.I would like to go somewhere that has no snow when I retire(someday)I would also like to work part time. Some cool winter days are ok,just no snow shoveling.Still the vacation was great.Last year we went to California to the winternationals, very nice weather but the housing was extremely high. Thanks for the input.I have to go and move some snow,LOL.
