SignUp Now!I agree, A nice picnic family atmosphere is best & where nicer than Escondido or rural SD area. LA & orange county are nothing anymore than concrete jungles. As far as management somebody that's has a good reputation & positive energy to motivate folks. I'm willing to do what I can but I'm too blunt & lack the finesse. I 'm much better at taking things apart & fixing them. Every time I try that with people I unfortunately don't seem to get the desired results. But keep the ideas coming. If its meant to happen it will.I like Bates Farm for the show although it is out of the way for many people. There's not too many places available that provide adequate space, shade, and comfortable surroundings.
However, the show must be under completely new management for me to participate.
Gary, from memory the owner I spoke to wants $300.00 & a guaranteed $10.00 per car up to 30. So about $600.00 is break even for the property rental. I agree that Bates is more favorable. Stone Brewery In Escondido was just mentioned by Mr. Bounty hunter. I haven't heard of it & would like to know more. Perhaps he would like to share that with us.Bates Nut Farm is the nicer of the 2 places mentioned. Great atmosphere, great food, convenient shopping store, plenty of shade, directly adjacent to a paved parking lot. Deere Park, from what I remember does not have the shade that Bates does. What's the cost to rent Deere park for a 1 day car show?
I like the idea of the show not being owned by anybody to avoid some of the problems of the past.
FWIW & IMHO.
You guys should all get together for lunch somewhere and discuss this face to face.
Sounds good to me.open to everyone , so input would be unlimited.
actually a few meetings would be best, start with general ideas, and narrow them down to the best and most feasible.
