i was wondering if i still had to use race gas with my race chip or would the alky do the job with 94 octane without detinatoin. would my chip have to be reprogramed thanks for any info on how these systems work and which system do you guys recomend. i would love to have it on tap and keep my race chip in the car without switching chips at the track. thanks again

Race gas is always best for the track. You should be able to run very close to your race trim times with alky but usually it will be slightly slower. It is harder to get 25 psi on a 108 chip on 94 and alky then it is on C16, though not impossible. Be sure you have plenty of experience with alky tuning before attempting something like this. I saw Steve Y blow a headgasket at the track running high 11's on alky when his system failed due to one of his nozzles plugging.

THANKS FOR THE INFO BB 87 . I HAVE NO EXP WITH ALKY . I WILL STAY WITH C16 MAYBE INSTALL A FUEL CELL THIS WINTER .

How fast do you wanna go?? High 12's are pretty easy with 94 and alky AND the proper mods to do it safely (fuel pump, hot wire.....). Low 12's are a bit more difficult, you'll start running in to traction problems unless you have sticky tires already. Mid to high 11's are obtainable after you get it tuned in and throw some slicks on (also with the proper mods to support that ET). I did this on a JL 23* timing chip that I run all the time. Only difference between my street setup and the track setup is tires and the position of the BSTC knob. Now faster than mid 11's I can't speak for but others certainly can. Of course you'll be relying on your alky system to work for that 12 seconds or kablooey!!
