Boost231, I TRIED to put my overflow in the spot you have yours and had no luck what so ever. It wouldnt fit in there, as in it wouldnt fit 100% in there, one side would go in, then the other would, i said forget it and put it back in front of the battery.

It will fall inside if you try to mount it there without the mounting hanger provided in the kit. If you look closely at Boost231's picture, you will notice he used the mounting hanger and it is screwed down next to the ground wires; very clean installation.

damn i shouldnt have shared my install now everyone will do it that way. thanks i like clean installs. it will fit in there its just a PITA. you i think i put the bottle in first then put the braket around it.
 
Why don't you just use the windshield washer tank for the overflow? Mine works like a champ.

Then you would lose the functionality of the washer fluid for street driven vehicles. It brings you back down to the same scenerio on where to mount the windshield washer tank so it looks clean and retains a factory look.

I'm not sure if Razor can have these made, but it would be an excellent idea to use the coolant overflow tank you provide with the kit, but have it sectioned in the middle, or 60% alky and 40% overflow. It would be two completely different compartments with separate caps. This would make installing the reservoir and overflow very simplified and it also retains a very clean look. The divider would have to be pretty thick to keep the heat from the overflow away from the methanol.

Just food for thought... :rolleyes:
 
I tried it and all, and like i said didnt work. I said 'f--- it' and put it front of the battery. Figured if i want to take it out to wash out or something, then it wont take long to take out.

Two problems... then the alcohol capacity is less.. and the costs involved to injection mold a custom tank with twin chambers. Last time I checked, it required 1000 tanks to be made, and the cost for the mold.. forgetaboutit. I wont get involved with a 1000 of anything for these cars. Dont get me wrong, I love my Buicks.. but not going to lose the house over it.

I like killing the oem washer tank and using it for an overflow. 99% of these Buicks are fair weather cars anyways. I'd be more scared to use my wipers and scratch the winshield. let alone put spots on the Black finish.

I say ditch the stupid tank and be done with it. :D cars in the 60's never came from factory with a coolant reservoir.. and with a 160 stat.. its purely cosmetics.

Its like a post a few months back where someone wanted a stainless steel billet overflow tank included with the kit.. but then you say its an extra 125 bucks... you get crickets.

Dont know.. until another solution comes up.. solution=inexpensive.. things stay how they are.
