I thinking of installing my Razor ALKY kit this weekend I read the instructions already it seem pretty simple, but I was hoping you guys can give my some tips and help me out with some pics of install you guys done before just to help me out and make sure I'm in the right track. Thanks

Instructions pretty much go over it all. Use a soldering iron at every connection you can, even on the ring terminals. I prefer to remove the plastic insulation on any crimp type connector, crimp the wires to it, then use a soldering iron, and finish it with heat shrink. There is a rubber grommet that has the hvac wires/vacuum tubes going through in the passenger floor board, you can drill a hole right in the middle of that and feed a metal coat hanger through to hook to the wires you need to bring into the car.

I usually start with the pump, then remove old overflow tank, unbolt battery tiedown, install new overflow for antifreeze, bolt up the battery, then the alky tank. There is a small bolt on the fender that is in the perfect area for the ground side of the float connection. Then install the 3bar map. Lay your wires out and leave just a little room to work with under the hood, then bring them into the car (as mentioned above). Once all connections are done under the hood use the wire loom to hide it all. I also bolt up the braided lines together and install them as one unit to the pump. When drilling the up-pipe for the nozzle, make sure you clean out any shavings that are left. Once into the car, pop the dash trim plate off. Pull off both sides of the idiot light assemblies. The low fuel LED is usually easier for me to pop in there than the power injection bulb. Feed those wires down into the drivers floorboard. Re-install the trim plate. Decide where you are mounting the pump on/pressure LED. Drill the hole, mount the LED, run those wires down to the drivers floor board. Once you have all the wires down there you can work on your connections. I believe I've installed 4 kits in the past, 3 of which have been in the past 4 months.

Any questions, Razor is very knowledgeable and is nearly always around;)

I just started installing mine tonight and it's going pretty well. All of the under-hood work is done (almost)

I'm a little confused about the overflow tank. If I try and install like it says in the notes (the hose will be the perfect length). It's really too short and kinks where it comes out of the tank.

Does anybody have a pic of it installed?

Thanks,
Eric

I installed the overflow on the fan shroud.

Same here, zip-tied to the fan shroud.

alky kit

don't be in a hurry ....... take your time & follow the instructions. it's not a quick installation, but is very nice when done carefully with attention given to detail. if it weren't for the braided hose going into the up pipe on my car, you wouldn't know it has an alky kit.

i dont like the way the over flow looks there. the best place is if you look at the engine from the front look at the battery on the left side of tha battery there is a whole right there in the fender put it in there. its a tight fit but works well. if you need pics i can take them tomorrow.

hell

hell here you go./

You can always call me. I've installed about 125 Buick kits personally :D

Trick install on the overflow boost231...I will be moving mine there today.

As you can see I currently have it strapped to the fans...dont like it right there.

I also installed my overflow between the battery and headlight. This allows you to still unscrew the cap and being able to add fluid [using a funnel].

;)

One BIG question here - with the overflow WAY Unaccesable there, how in the heck can you do the 'Overflow Shuffle'...ie, after you make a pass or Anytime you suspect a HG problem check for BUBBLES in the Overflow????

The custom overflow bottle supplied with your kit mounts on the inside of the passenger fender, just above the front spoiler, with the supplied clamps & hose. Hose & nipple facing up, with the hose going to radiator thru opening at battery & drain petcock facing down. If you have any ?'s feel free to shoot me a PM.

ive always hated when i see pictures of it installed to the fan like that. out of the way gives a nice clean look.

Boost231, I TRIED to put my overflow in the spot you have yours and had no luck what so ever. It wouldnt fit in there, as in it wouldnt fit 100% in there, one side would go in, then the other would, i said forget it and put it back in front of the battery.
