19 yr male, no accidents or tickets, Allstate Insurance, full coverage with $250 deductible, I pay $612 per six months! Based on what I am seeing on this post, I'm getting a hell of a deal! But that also has multiple vehicle discount, good student discount, and the fact that my dad has 3 more cars, a motorcycle, a boat, and a house insured with them too! Thank God dad has his toys, it gets me a break.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but a lot of companies go by a list put out by some insurance organization that defines the GN as a high risk, high loss vehicle. I don't remember what this list is called. A couple of companies made their own lists. I believe Allstate doesn't use the industry standard list. To them, it's just another Regal.;) Therefore no big jump in the premium. This is what I found out when I bought my car in 1987. Most places wanted 1200-1800 a year for the GN. Allstate was cheapest by far. These days, I don't know if it's still true. I've done checking around periodically and haven't found anyone that can beat them as far as a total package (homeowners and 4 vehicles). I've picked a few violations over the years  and have never been dinged on my rates. I sort of feel like a hostage to Allstate. I can't complain, though. They've always paid a claim and have saved me thousands of dollars since I drove the GN out of the showroom in '87.:)

I just got off the phone with my insurance agent. I'm 23 married and I have a multicar discount. An 87 GN will be 577.62 dollars every six months. I asked about a stated value policy and they said it's not avaliable for that year.

Thanks for the replies!

Bishir- so your paying $1100 a year for the GN and you get a few hundred dollers for 'your 15 year Buick' if it gets totalled or stolen??

bishir,
Dude, I'd start making some phone calls. It sounds like he's yanking you around. That would suck to have your GN stolen and only get back what you paid in premiums for a whole year.

I cant get classic insurance! because im not 25 ARGH, does anyone know where i can get insurance, i am 24, and i wanna make sure that if its stolen, that they reimburse me what its worth!!!

I'm 47, good driving record with this as a 2nd or 3rd vehicle through state farm. Full coverage is $55 per month with $100 deductible. I thought that is too much. I called a company called Collector Car Insurance. They are sending the paper work. Coverage will cost $167 per YEAR!!! If I keep the mileage under 3000 and $196 per year if I keep it under 6000 miles. I do have to keep it in a garage that locks, no one under 26 can drive it. And I have to have another vehicle for other licensed drivers in my household. Which I have now, until all FOUR of my kids can drive and hopefully a couple will move out by then.,
If anyone has any warnings, complaints or concerns about this type of insurance let me Know. Otherwise I'll spend the extra money on a garage door opener and make room in the garage.

I'm 23 and I have collector car insurance on my Mustang through State Farm. It's about 120 bucks a year. There are mileage restrictions however.

TTA with a stated value of $24,500, "classic car" policy, 32 years old, married, no wrecks or accidents, $250/$500 deductibles with
$100,000/$300,000/$100,000 coverage = $62.00 per month!

You guys especially the ones with Allstate need to shop around. If you don't drive the car every day and only use it for "pleasure" then you should contact Grundy. They are the cheapest by far. You can get a stated value policy for just about any car a lot cheaper and easier than riop off Allstate. I made 2 claims on my allstate home policy one for a burglary and one for wind damage (neither one was my fault). Allstate cancelled my homeowner's policy, mind you I had been with them for 15 years and they took my $$ every year. I called them and they told me and this is exact quote "We cancelled you because we weren't making any money off of you". This was for my home without being given even a day to look for another insurance company. Those rat bas**ds, I wouldn' insure an go cart with those morons.

Just my .02 worth

I am 33 and I have State Farm (Chicago, IL). I pay around $460.00 a year. I have about 4-5 cars and my home insured through them. I have heard good thing about Rally Insurance(630-617-9960 or 800-801-1823), they quoted my buddy $197.00 a year, full coverage valued at $15000.00. You have to have a second car as a daily driver, you have to be over 26 years of age( I think), you can drive the car to show or pleasure not to work or any other daily activity.Anywhere between 1000-5000 miles ( you have to tell them how many miles you will be driving a year). If you request more miles than that I don't know if the car would qualify for the classic insurance or for the such low rate. The greatest thing about this is that, they will give you a certification showing that it is either a classic or a show car which you can send along with your Emission test form to the Deparment of emission and get a waver for your car:D Give them a call.

Good luck

Everyone has to be 25 or 26 years of age, how hard is it to get FULL coverage, im 24 and cant afford to lose another car due to theft. Oh well, looks like the title gets transferred to the mothers name ;)
