Is it and is a 3" hooker dp w cast knuckle worth it or should i go w a THDP style? I have an offer from a board member thats pretty attractive but not sure if its the right move. I got hotwire walbro, 60lb, afr, ls1 w gen2, full throttle chip, 9" k&n w 3.5" pipe. I was looking to upgrade to a better dp and alky but the deal is pretty sweet. looking for a quick spool its a street car.

The 5857 is a great turbo to go up from on a near stock application if you plan on increasing boost into the 20's. It won't do much on your application below that and it won't spool faster. I've switched the ex housing to a Garrett with better spoolup. The Garrett .63 better matches the turbine and mass flow potential of the turbo.

Well GNGAL could sell me a part I really don't need...LOL
Back to the turbo...
I would not put it on without a converter upgrade unless you go to the garrett .63 housing, have alky, E85, or something that a allows you to run more timing and Boost.
I put a 5858 with the Precision.63 housing on a car late summer. Love it with a 2800 stall @0-1psi.
20 psi was as low as I had it on pump and alky now its up to 24psi. I know 26-28 is going to be too much for street tires/GNX wheel combo so I may leave it there. It's borderline now, romp on it at 30mph and it starts skating.

I like mine 2200RPM @0-1 I think it is supper street turbo.
20mpg to the drags 11.87ET at the drags

I love mine...Night and day difference with it going from the d5 to my 9" art carr 2800 stall
