I am having some boost creep issues. Is it necessary to disassemble the turbo in order to port the wastegate hole?

no. It's pretty easy as long as the bolts come out. The hardest part of the job is putting the oil drain back on after you're finished.

if the turbo is on the car i will port with turbo in place , just get the downpipe out of the way and have at it , the dust from porting is light and will blow out of the turbo on startup

So you don't have to take it apart?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using TurboBuick Mobile mobile app

here some pics of the 71 on my car , i made a template from the external pipe after i ported it and then put the template on the turbo and ported away

if you have a tH style downpipe pull the down pipe and the puck mark should be easy to see , port to within 1/8" of the edge of the mark making sure to leave enough that the puck will seal if it moves around
