Is there a way to get a count of TurboBuicks?

I was wondering if there is anyway we can get a real count of TurboBuicks via TB.com I would Like to see how many GN's, Turbo T's, Limited's are really on the road today. I know there are Buicks out there which the owners are not members. But I bet most are here on TB.com I thought it would be neat to see how many are left that we know of..... Has anyone looked into this before?

jmo, but even if all the current active members of the tb forums chimed in with their tb count,... you still wouldn't have a number anywhere remotely close to how many tbs are still out there.
I'd bet this is probably the most popular question of all tb owners have though.

Yep, there's always a way. But is it practical. I have an 86 GN, that makes me #3 after tb3.

Insurance companies have a mathematic method for estimating how many would still be on the road today based on the current year and based on the year they were made and produced.

Npbody could ever come close with a count....while its neat to believe that most turbo owners are aware of this forum truth us a good many I am sure are not. I have bought turbo regals within 20 minutes of where I live from owners that never even heard of me......

as to the number that have passed on Gbody probably has put the most in the cemetary followed by Richard Clark who has them muffified in warehouses and in the last few years I have sent a few to the final resting places...same time I have sent over 315 to new homes....

This is not to overlook others that have removed a few from the roads but only the ones that I have been in contact with. The same holds true for any car of note.....I did GTOs back in the late 1970 and 1980s sold nice ones and dismantled many of them for parts....

Probably the correct term would be the 'Cycle of Life"

The better question may be to ask at any given major event will we ever see 150 turbo regals or more at one single time? I doubt it.....

If it helps I've got an 82 GN waiting on a full frame off and an 83 limited T that I've been working on for 2 years now. It's been a pain to find parts for either of them but they are mine and I'm still trying to find parts for them.

i've got my 84 Type..

one of my old bosses has an 87 GN that he bought brand new in the spring of 87.. there is at least one other GN that i know of within 30 miles of me.
one guy at work says that he knows of a Regal with a hood that has a bulge on it that's been sitting in some guy's yard for a few years.

I would like to see a registry also, I think that is a really good idea. A few years ago there was a guy in Canada who did one for the limiteds but disappeared shortly afterward.

It would be great if all the TR's and models could be accounted for by year.

A good project for a sponsor or enthusiast with deep enough pockets.

I've met more TR owners that weren't aware of any of the Buick forums (ihadav8, tbs, tb, t6p, gnttype, etc.) than I have owners who were members...I know of 3 other GN owners in this town besides myself and they don't visit these or any other Buick forums.

Is there a way to get the info from the DOT and MOT from all the states and provinces.


We would at least know how many Vin 7 cars are still titled
