In the late 80's there were company's all over that would do aftermarket moon roof's and T tops. So that was a common thing for someone to buy a car and wish they ordered it with a moon roof. Dealers used many different people to install them. One thing I found is the aftermarket moon roof's and T tops tend to leak or rust early on. And you usually can't find or get any parts or seals for them.

It actually is an ASC sunroof

My sunroof

Looks like mine was an aftermarket install from the dealer. Chrome trim ring, and yes, I wish it was black. Made by a company called Wabasto. No problems with it.

Mine is a dealer installed as well, Hollandia brand name, now merged with Webasto. Mine has a provision for hand crank at the rear towards the rear window, I am the third owner and the crank was in the glovebox, the person I bought it from had no idea what it was. I recently found a company locally that has replacement seals and does headliners too.

Little late here but I have the same roof. During the install they cut the factory headliner board around the outer perimeter and the headliner was stretched tight. Do a search, there is more info in the restoration/ show car section on this site. I too have wondered how it effects the value of the car. Wish I had done more research before buying the car but I really wanted a moonroof.

my 85 has the dealer installed ASC roof also. did some research yrs ago and found the same roof wan on mid 80's Lincolns and got spare motors and switches from a wrecking yard.
