Saw this for sale, and was looking at some of the GN1 IC's but didn't see one that looked like this one.

Perhaps someone else here can determine if it is or not?

Also guy is asking $250 for it....so not sure if I should jump on it or not.

I know real GN1's I believe sell for closer to $800 new, not sure what used goes for...

But again does this even look like a GN1 style IC?

Thanks!

Looks pretty close to the one on their page.
As long as it has no leaks, at 250 i'd jump on it no matter who makes it.

GN1 IC's aren't anything special, mass produced china goods, don't think they'd ever command 800 bucks :o

What's with the can of paint?

I was actually looking at the shape of the IC that's what got me wondering if it was really a GN1. I figured he must've painted it.

Ive been looking at getting one of the GN1 s seems Mike Licht and Mark both think highly of these units? Am i wrong to think the $550 price tag versus the $850 of the presision makes it a bad purchase? I don't mind paying for the good stuff... but don't like to pi$$ away money either.

Not knocking Mike or Mark...

The PTE unit has been deep into the 9's and has been a staple in the FMIC race for years... You look at the majority of the TSM cars, you have PTE's, Cotton's, RJC's, some CAS's, and a few custom pieces...

The outside of 2 I/C's can look alot alike. The core is the big factor to consider... It is all about flow... The interior design can be one of several different methods... Size doesn't always count:biggrin:

That intercooler is from when GN1 first started getting IC's made and it was made in the USA. If you look on my site you can see this is NOT what is being offered today. And I run one of the currently offered units on my own GN, no problems here.

I have that intercooler, looks like somebody just painted it black. Mine works fine, but I would not sell it for $250.
