I pulled the plenum off to clean and paint it.I found that it had a spacer inbetween the top and the base intake. Also looks like the base might be ported.
The top part of the intake has a diverter plate welded in it(to round off the back and direct air into the intake)
Then a spacer plate that the hole is smaller than the upper intake/lower intake.Looks like it's some sort of restrictor plate. The plate is made out of aluminum.

Is this normal?

I'm figuring there is alot more work done to this car than I thought there was.It runs great, barks or spins the tires on all shifts and pushed 320 rwhp with only 14lbs of boost with the t44 turbo.

Any help or idea's would be appreciated:)

I've seen that before, its an old school method of evening out the airflow to the cylinders. Its better than stock, for sure, but you might consider updating to a newer power plate and stock or pte plenum. RJC sells a package deal on the pte plenum, good deal! However, what you have will be OK. HTH

From reading your posts I think you bought an old school racecar.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Didn't it have a double pumper setup on it as well?

Prolly some history in that car.

Yes,it is an old school setup.Definitly was drag raced.I'm trying to figure out if the Cam was changed next.320hp seemed high for a stock shortblock with 14lbs from a t44.

The intake seems to work so I won't change it now.
