Sounds like the lever length/geometry is different on your new t/b.

Even after you find what is causing the bind up, you may still need to mod your bracket. Make sure when you get done the cable does not reset after readjusting the cable correctly.

ok took the pin out holding the tv cable plunger ,spring, plunger, sleeve for plunger and a small plate.(yes small plate inside the spring)On this plate it says SHIFT KIT US PAT 4711140-SK. The plunger and all parts slides in and out valve body flawlessly. The spring is a green spring 17/8 inches long not compressed ,compressed as hard as I can push it 1 1/2 on hard surface. The plate that was inside the spring is 1 1/4(long).I have no idea what the plate is for or why it was inside the spring? I put the spring and all back in valvebody with out this plate in it and it still stops a 1/2 short of flush with valve body.So I am thinking the spring is just way to tight, but i'm no tranny expert, thus my ?'s come here...so where do I go next?

As I already suggested, drop the valve body and inspect the COMPLETE TV valvetrain lineup.

And what am I looking for droppin the valve body?

The TV plunger, sleeve, spring and blocking plate you found are only part of the TV valvetrain lineup. Down further in the bore is another valve and possibly another spring (unless it's been removed) you need to check. It's held in by a roll pin that you will only be able to remove by first dropping the valve body.

Chris718 you are the man ,got the stock spring from ya put it in and trans works PERFECT.Took it out for a test run laid in to it watching the tps on scanmaster goes to 4.98 and the trans shifts awesome. I took it to the track tonight and ran it on a regular street radial with the alky tune in it,ran and shifted great.. Thanks again for the hook up with the spring and the free advice on the phone. When I am looking to upgrade the trans more I will be giving you a call....
