Ah, but you can dress for the cold in successive layers. You can only HIDE from the heat!~;)

I'm no fan of the cold, but I guess I prefer it to consantly having to stop what I'm doing to wipe the sweat from my brow before feeling it's sting in my eyes. Yeah, pretty sure heavy clothes beats being soaking wet and covered in angry bugs....

Desert = dry air and very few bugs (though the ones we do have are scary)

In addition, I'd rather jump in the swimming pool than throw on another layer of clothing, any day of the week.:D

its too early in the season for it to be this cold in my opinion, racetrack is 2 hours away and thats the nearest one. gun laws here are stupid! gas is more expensive here than in most places usually .20-.30 a gallon than any other new england state. property taxes suck. if your not familiar with what a property tax is i will explain it. you buy a car either new or used then you pay a percentage of what they tell you what you its worth then you get to keep paying it as long as you own that car forever.if you own several cars they dont cut you a break. so about the only thing that here has going for it is most of the people that i'm friends with live here . all the old cars are drying up around here as well.i guess if i was into 90's or 2000's cars i would be fine but i'm not into those.

i have considered Virginia or the Carolinas or Tennesse or somewhere else where i could just start over. i havent figured it out yet though

Are you Freakin Kidding? Property Tax on a CAR??? That's just INSANE !!!!!!
That would be enough for me, right there. Add firearm's restrictions and high cost of living like fuel and all you'd see was my taillights goin elsewhere....

Breathe thru a straw from underwater then? :p

I like to jump in the pool too. Not sure I'd trade swimming here at home in winter for the snow, snow shovelling, stupid drivers, oh and road salt, yeah, um hey...u suck!!!! LOL!!!!

Property tax on anything with a deed. Not just cars. The more valuable the property you have the more you pay. The funny thing is that you can own 3 piece of crap houses and the evaluation will be much more than their worth. Then you do an addition adding sq footage and a room or two and you get re-evaluated and pay even more. Same with cars. The evaluations are always on the high side. Unless it's a VIN 7 regal. In that case they are too low. However you can live cheaply in the
Suburbs here and be less than 10 miles from the interstate just about at all times and make $50-100k/year with no degree if you have a little ambition. Not that easy to do in the southern states.

Try running a car wash in it.

The funny thing is people think for some reason water does not freeze in the car wash. It will be -10f and here comes someone in a self serve bay. o_O The car turns into a block of ice then the put more money in trying to get it off. LOL! I get a good laugh.

Brings back memories of my upstate NY childhood. I remember locking myself out while washing my car in 10° weather. Couldn't even get the key in the door lock after spraying it...

It's relative though. You can make that much down here but you don't need that much Brian. With the lower cost of living you can live fairly comfortably on less than you can up north or on the left coast.;)

my buddy was just telling me a few years ago when he had his viper it was $2600 in property tax !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes for a car that he already owned and already paid tax on once. so he said he moved and used his moms address in another part of the state and it was less but i didnt ask how much less. he always has newer cars cars and he said newer cars its common to have a $700-1500 bill easy . yes it will go down in time as the car is worth less but it sucks that you get screwed time and time again up here.

$2,600 annual bill just to own a Viper? I pay less property tax on my HOUSE !!!! And we only tax real property here, and I'm not happy about that!
But you get grafted on everything you have? Man, now I just don't even understand why anybody lives there, let alone such a population density.

I had absolutely NO idea that things were that crazy anywhere in this country.

Well, until last night....

just woke up and peeked out the window and i'm not happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i guess we're suppose to be getting 1"to 5" winter sucks !!!!

My buddy pays over $3000 on his new CTSV.

They also want all your neighbors and town officials to rat you out if you have property in FL or other sane states that don't tax property and you have a car registered there.

Didn't have the snows on today and we've got about 6 inches here now and I got stuck when it was 3 inches.

Nittos suck in the snow.

Rain they said yeah right....

Stopped finally at a gas station on East Main St. in Meriden near ya James and got a ride home to pick up the 4 Blizzaks and the jack.

No problem on the UNplowed state roads on the way home in the right lane doing 25 mph.

Let me know when you get it figured out I need to retire at 62 and just shoot stuff out my back door. :D

Tennessee sounds good but I'm not sure I can spell it right all the time.

Property tax here on TWO VIN 7 regals is $80 a year. :p

The house is $3K however.

Well to give you some idea, we built the enlargement to the shop without having to have amy permits and since we've got 20+ acres here and goats it's classified as farm land and the taxes are less than $2K per year. I can shoot anytime I wish and hunt on my own property. That by itself makes a good arguement and our trucks are listed as farm vehicles so regestration is about $40 a year.;) And we don't have state income taxes. Not to mention I worked today with my sleeves up and no jacket. I'll be barbequing in the next 2 days and the house will have the windows open except at night.:D

You know you want to go build a snowman. :p

As much as I hate snow. I hope Chicago get buried this winter. We just lost the mother of all snow contracts. One of the biggest ups facility's in the us. We been there for over 15 years. They put it out to bid two weeks ago. Nice huh. Heard through the grapevine they want a minority owned company now. Even though our rates came in lower we still lost it. Now we are trying to place 3 road graders, 4 salt trucks, 4 front end loaders and 2 bobcats. Would not be bad if it was not so late in the season. Most contracts are all signed by now though. Now all we can hope for is a ton of snow where the minority company can't hang and ups realizes what a mistake they made.

So send that stuff over this way! :D
