As a matter of fact, Jay is a legend in the TR world. He has been involved with these cars since the beginning. I don't know if he still does it or not, but Jay used to be in the chip making business himself. So when he says he knows what makes a good chip, he really does. I think you need to educate yourself about who is who on here, and show some respect.

Glad to hear you never had a problem with Joe, but unfortunately I found both Joe and his chip lacking !

Too bad, but that's the reality. Unfortunately there are those that seemingly can't handle hearing that fact!

Yeah and they are all in here crying.... Oh wait thats you...

Eric burns a mean chip, but that doesnt mean you have to nut hug him. He already has a great reputation.

Remember there are always two sides to a story. And you are stepping on a name that has been around for a very long time. And for as long as I can remember you are the first person to talk negative about Joe. So that is why your side of what your saying has some of us that have been around for quite a while find little merit in your bold statement. Now if you said it didn't work right for me that is one thing but to act like he don't know what he was doing your barking up the wrong tree. He is one of the nicest guy's out there period. He is not on the buick board but he is not forgotten.

You go right ahead and respect him all you want. As far as I'm concerned he's simply an individual who has a big ego and clearly has difficulty accepting the fact that I have reported a negative experience/ opinion with respect to Joe Lubrant and his inferior chip.
Feel free to continue your hero worship, if that makes you feel better.

there seems to be more to this thread than joe lubrants' chips, apparently...

Congratulations, GTracer, you've most likely ruined ever getting any help from anyone on here again. I can understand why you could not get Joe Lubrant to help you with the chip. You get what you give. And lastly, worship and respect are not the same thing. The only worship that I do is my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Wow...
I'm sure GTracer is going better and faster than everybody. To bad Turbo Tweak doesn't include a dose of "Tact" with every chip purchase. GT could have used some.

GT,
I can obviously tell that your a very distinguished mechanic, and that your mechanical abilities are FAR beyond anything weve had the pleasure of hosting on this site. Please enlighten the less fortunate ones here with some of your qualifications and past accomplishments. I assure you that when you do, RESPECT like you've never seen it, will be heading your way.;)

On a side note: At what age does all this wisdom come? (How old are you, kid) Where do you live? (Just wondering which state we can blame you on. Really hoping that it's not mine this time.)

I used one of Joes chips that wasnt even meant for my car and it STILL ran better than the TT chip. It ran about the same as the red armstrong chip did in my car, but Ive had the best luck with Full throttles Extender chips. My .02 cents

wow ok so this went from every ones 2 cents on a chip burner to to some ones ego probleme if you really wanna know im and electronic mechanical engineer for the canadian military vehicles no and officer i work for a living i under stands the inner working of a chip and all the tables that need to go togeter and work hand in had to have a well functioning vehicle my question wasnt either with joe or eric burns the best chips im asking if is this chip a good idee or should i wait on a a tt chip im asking cuz i dont know either of the dudes and i had never herd about of a joe lubrant chip and i dint wanna end up with a fly by night ebay special making my car run worse then with stock chip stock injectors and stock turbo

Your posts are very hard to read. The style can't help your credibility.

That being said - I never had a Joe Lubrant chip - but did have Jay Carter chips in 2 TR's - Hella fun chips. Loved the anti-theft.

This almost messed up my basket of popcorn. I have run (still have in a box) JL chips. Never had any issues whatsoever. I just upgraded with the new tech of the day.
Jay your patience is admirable.

I think when offering an opinion (you GTracer) it should be left at one post for everyone to read. Who cares about retort. When you come back in to defend your position, you look like you get bent over.

Have rans 2 of Joes chips, also TT and Bob's. Joes did not have the same driveability manner as the other 2. Blms were always lower but still way better than a stocker. Currently only use Bobs chips.

You definitely seem hung up on the "fast" aspect, although I never made mention of this at anytime when referring to Joe Lubrant and his chip!

Did it ever occur to you that there could possibly be other reasons/ factors besides your " fast" factor, that could possibly render a chip inferior to another ? Apparently not !
Maybe the reality is you aren't nearly as knowledgeable as you think you are about chips despite your " I actually know whats inside a chip so I'd say I'm a pretty good judge of what sucks and what doesn't". What an ego!

Ever occur to you I don't give a shit what you think?

Sorry for derailing your thread, OP. Don't know why this guy decided to go off on me, all I did was give an honest assessment and now I'm some kind of egomaniac. Not sure how that happened.

Chips aren't an exact science. If it's set up for your combination then it will be just as fast as anything else. That's why we ask a lot of questions about your setup before we start burning chips.

Erics chips have a lot of adjustable parameters. Im not a big fan of that but people seem to love it.
