Looks like a common, poorly welded frame to me.
The frames were made by an outside vendor, not GM. [Remember the plastic circular tags in the rear wheel wells?] They got what they got.
Have seen MANY that looked worse.

[No, this isn't my first "rodeo"].

Mine doesn't look much better than that and i know the history of my car..mine came from the factory like that.....i don't know either of you but i think you jumped the gun............................Bob

I guess I am not seeing what your concerns are. That engine saddle/cross frame section looks normal to me, and my frame has that crud jagged welding/overlapped pieces as well. I sure hope like others said before you didnt jump the gun on accusations. I only comment because I almost bought this car. I never saw it in person, but havent seen anything in pictures that would keep me from purchasing it based on the pictures supplied. Looks like a really nice car. Hope all turns out as a misunderstanding..............

I agree the welding is factory. My Buick looked similar, but the rod knock would be a problem.

I studied the pictures...my frame looks exactly like that. The welds are sloppy and they came from GM that way. Maybe there was extensive rust and that is a fresh weld?

I'm sorry but I'm with Leeper on this one. You are so upset about frame damage that probably isn't damage at all, but rather a sloppy weld job.

You have a rod knock::eek: I would be highly upset about that one more than "frame damage"

My Opinion

Many people here know Jud as a decent man. While I know him from several sale transactions - I would not characterize us as friends - though working with him has always been pleasant and positive.

It certainly looks like Jud did a good job at thoroughly photographing and describing what looks to be a nicely maintained car.

I think LILOV6 has demonstrated an extreme vulgarity and lack of class in this forum. Your comments regarding the frame have been TOTALLY discredited - and had you taken even a moment to do some basic research on the subject you could have saved yourself a lot of worry - and avoided a lot of baseless ill-will.

After the juvenile way you handled this particular frame situation, it wouldn't surprise me if you did something squid-headed and blew up the darned engine yourself. While you claim considerable TR experience, it's pretty darned obvious that you never had one on the lift before....

Going by the facts (as we know them now) I tend to side with Jud. It's my opinion. LILOV6's behavior and language on this forum has only reinforced that opinion.

That Is A Real Nice Car! How Much Did It Go For?
I Didnt See Were He Was Talking About The ****ty Welds
Anyway! Is It For Sale?
