88cuttyclassic said it best "most GN owners I meet where I live are stuck up assholes"

Ive found that statement to be very true.

It wasn't always like that. When I bought my car and just got started with it guys came came out of the woodwork helping and with good advice. I made some good friends back then that are still good friends to this day because of this stupid car.
I have noticed with the new generation of Turbo Buick owners that they can be quite arrogant and know it alls, until you get to the track and then they are real stupid'and go from know it alls to asking a million questions. One guy you woulda swore wrote the book on Buicks when car guys were around calls me one night and ask how to turn up the boost!
I still believe though that there are more good guys in the Buick community than some of the car groups.Buy a Corvette and hang around that group for a while. That is a real treat.

What's this........the whiner thread? Must be liberals. I know that's true in your case, Randy. You guys should join, "Whiners Anonymous". However, I don't see what you guys see. Like many others here, I respond to tech questions I know the answer to and likewise, have never been left hanging if I ask a question. What's the matter, you asked a question about how to remove a bolt and nobody responded? :D

USE A WRENCH!

I haven't noticed any arrogance at all here, people seem really helpful to me *shrug*

As far as stuck up goes, well, I have a Limited, but I'm not stuck up at all, I'm extremely approachable. Just don't ask me any questions, 'cause I won't know what the Hell I'm talking about.

Seriously :D

With all of these know it all around here I can't believe someone hasn't commented on your punctuation yet. :D

J/K, this is a large messageboard so it has its share of people from all walks of life. Almost without exception, the turbo Buick owners I've met in person were great. I'm looking forward to meeting some people this year in Bowling Green.

85 TR,
One of the main reasons I purchased a Buick was for the people and their willingness to help. I have learned everything I know from 2 of the biggest names in TRs.They never shunned me away or kept secrets. I have made many great friends because of this board too. Try that on a Mustang board

I recieve 7-8 emails a week for tech help or advise. I make sure that I pass on what I know and help evey single one of those asking me.

There will always be people here with problems and attitudes. There are some who are trouble makers, just learn who they are and want to make it bad for every one.

Another problem is that what some members are writting and what they are meanning are 2 different things. Its easy to sound like a jerk or whiney from behind a keyboard.

Dont take the arguments and attitudes to heart. This is the best board for Buick tech and help. If your question is not answered or answer is not clear enough , ask again.

I don't know what your problem is here?

After checking some of your recent posts, most were in off-topic threads, and not tech. If you would care to be more specific, maybe we can find the problem and help.

Yes, there are some members that do more "socializing" than ask tech questions and that is perfectably acceptable. We do have fun here in the proper forums, and also provide the best Buick tech info in others.

Since I take your comments seriously and personally, I do want you to either put up or shut up.:( Maybe the problem here is that we did not interpret your statements correctly, and if so, please clarify for us.

Our board continues to grow and prosper with input and comments [good and bad] from members. We encourage this but do not like unfounded claims or statements. Hopefully you will let us know where we have gone wrong?:)

'85 TR

I agree with ’85 TR, three is a lot of crap talking on this site. I used to belong to a (don’t laugh:p ) ford explorer site when I had my ’93 Explorer and it was more of a community feel. Everyone was friendly and tried to help out when they could. There was never a stupid question and when it was a question that had been addressed, they told you to use the search function and posted a link to the answer you were looking for. There are a lot of threads here where people are arguing over what are best, how their ideas are better, and how nobody else is right. I look at it this way; there are always going to be several ways to do things, maybe one idea is better that another, but they will both get you to the same place. I’ve read through several threads about who makes the best kit for this, which company makes the best part for that, and how you should set up this… and these are heated arguments for one side or the other! You just have to wade through the crap, take the info you want and use it how you want. This next statement is not directed at anyone in particular and is not intended to offend anybody in any way! Look at it this way; have you ever talked to a mustang guy, a corvett guy, or a camero guy that didn’t think that his car was the best thing ever built? And somehow he knew everything there ever was to know about his car model? You are going to get the same thing here. Guys who think they know everything about their car and how their car is better that yours no matter what you do or say. You have to take it with a grain of salt, read what they have to say, and just laugh to yourself because you know they don’t really know chit. They guys that are willing to help you answer the questions and give you good feed back to your questions are the ones you need to look to for help. Just ignore the others, you will find them on every board you are on, even Explorer boards… :D Sorry for such a long post, I hope this helps man; I look forward to racing with you this summer. -Gabe

I have to humbly admit that my car wouldn't be where it is today (which ain't much!) if I hadn't been able to lower my head and admit that I have a lot to learn. Sometimes it CAN be difficult to discern the knowledgeable advice from the blather, but ultimately I think it's a good crowd of helpful guys. If you establish contact with a select few who have proven to be smart and friendly they can be a wonderful source of help....pick your friends wisely- as in all other walks of life.
