3.0 ttv6 and awd, this a SHO stopper!

Spied: 2012 Buick LaCrosse GS Performance Sedan - GM Inside News Forum

Now if the coupe is next we are really talking!

A SHO stopper? I wouldn't go that far. Especially if GM holds true to form and puts the smaller 2.8 or 3.0 TT motor in it. That would be typical of them though. The SHO already has a 2 year head start, and I saw no numbers quoted even close to the SHO's 365hp numbers. And having driven several SHO's lately, Ford has nothing to worry about.

Dave,

You are salty today, I was just having fun.
Buick is targeting the SHO with this car though.

The SHO must go on...
Does that work for you?

"They want the car to compete with the Taurus SHO. 320-330 HP is not going to cut it.

3.0TT will push 400 HP" NASP from GMinsidenews...

Didn't mean to sound salty. I gave up on GM several years ago...boring cookie cutter cars, obama bail out, etc. I really rather doubt the production version of that motor will reach such lofty goals.

It wouldn't surprise me at all...The idea of a turbocharged engine is good but as usual, GM "screws it up" with a tiny, small displacement engine. As usual, GM l "misses the boat" like they did for years now...

Ford has nothing to worry about.

X2 !...

Also, like I wrote in another post, that LaCrosse is u-g-l-y.

Claude.

Needs flex fuel capability with that turbo.... and a factory tune that makes use of the ethanol content. that'd be fun. *edit: I see they are claiming E85 capability per the rumors

Kinda surprised the ford turbo doesn't already have flex fuel capability.

I bet it'll be priced well over $40K. Probably about $48K.

Mom just bought a LaCrosse CXL AWD. Sticker was almost 41K.

I saw a new SHO once on the dealers' lot. $46 large. Matter of fact, it was the only one I ever saw.:o

That car may be a test mule. GM dropped the fender "chiclet" in early '10. The rims look like the ones that will be on the upcoming Regal GS. I would have at least expected a Brembo brake upgrade. I hope they build it.

pretty certain it will get the 3.0L..as will the 2012 Enclave in twin turbo form

i don't understand GMs logic...there isnt a need for a "Lacrosse GS" but the Regal GS needs the 3.0L V6 motor

Nice looknig car but will not hold a candle to my MKS with the TT V6 in any catagory. Build, chassis, interior, technology, performance none of them. I really wanted a GM car but they just did not have a product that compared

Disagree on the build quality and interior...technology and performance yeah but there's a price difference

That LaCrosse looks like a big bar of soap, especially in white...

Claude.

I am a GM guy and of course a Buick guy, I drove and really looked at both, the lincoln wins hands down. FYI the MKS kills the SHO IMO too same car but much nicer.

Mike, expect a PM from me regarding your MKS! It's on my VERY short list for my next car (my list: MKS, MKT, MKZ, SHO, Flex, Edge). I want to know every detail about your ownership experience. After having test driven the MKS, the power and fit/finish is second to none! The only regret I have about the SHO is the interior only comes in charcoal or a very dark alternative. At least in the MKS I can get my favorite light color, like Cashmere/Saddle/Stone.
