I've never run on a 0.400 tree before. I surfed google but came up empty on exactly what it is. Reason I ask is that this weekend's King Street event at Bandimere is on a 0.400 light. I don't have a transbrake and it takes a few seconds for me to build boost. Any suggestions on what I should be trying to do to get a good R/T?

Thanks

light the first yellow. build some boost and creep in to light the 2nd yellow when your near your launch boost. then let er rip

std tree the 4 lights progress at a rate of .5 seconds , you get the three ambers then the green , trying to time your leave for just before the green light turns on so that you break the stage beams as the green light comes on

pro tree light is FAST the three ambers are not progressive like a standard tree
when both cars are staged and starter starts tree and BAM all three amber lights light at the same time then .4 seconds later the green light goes on , if you wait for the green youll be left at the tree sleeping

normal reaction is said to be .3 so so you need to be alert

heres one link but there are many

You can use a msd 2 step
( i think you need a dis 4 but not sure ),
2 line lock and a push on button on
your steering wheel a friend have it his
turbo eclipse and it work great.

one line lock on front wheel
one line lock on rear wheel
ajust the rev limiter a what rpm
you break can hold
smash the padal to the floor
and drop the botton and enjoy the ride.

Anticipation-
Here is a key to being a winner-
Be the last guy doing your burnout- take your time and control the lights.

(If you have issues like 5 seconds spooling, then be the first to the lights.)

Let the other guy bring the first light down IF HE IS CURTIOUS he will only take out the first set of lights and wait for you.

Thats good and bad, just have to be able to read it right?

If HE has both of his lights set, bring down your Second light with 5psi of boost and floor it...., say the word BITCH right after YOUR double light is lit up, by the time you say biotch, its time to go.

The synapsos between you and me versus the time the last double bulb is lit and the yellow light is lit is who is the winner, you must be ready for it on the .400

You will be getting 1.0 on a .4 if you dont get ready for it, plus crap ass sixty foot because your not ready with the boost.

I appreciate all the replies. Learn something everyday!

That 454Ss virtual tree is cool. Got a .421 on a .400. The script said I aughta go pro:)

Ok, so I was reading more and this race will be on a .400 "full" tree as opposed to a "pro" tree. I thought that was the same thing, but apparently this means a .4 sec countdown as opposed to the .5 second countdown and very different from a pro tree? Am I right? Sure am glad it isn't a pro tree. At least I get two time trials to put the hammer down and practice w/ the .400 lights.

Hey Jim.
King street runs a .4 full tree so you will get the three amber lights in succession not at once. And isn't it still bracket racing? Make your test passes the same - not building boost until the first of the 3 amber lights is lit. You only need to run 12.75 or quicker for KS and you easily have that covered.

Hey Royal, I'm in the boat with you on tranny troubles. I think I dropped the governor spring last night on my 11.42 pass in TnT. Car won't shift and no speedometer reading...Looks like I might have to race the Z06 this weekend in the stick shift series or try to fix the tranny. Those springs are hard to find. I took some in car videos last night and will try to get them hosted soon.

Detriot Transmissions in Denver should have the spring if you need a new one.
The good news about my tranny is that I was screwing around with the car Monday and found out that my TC was not locing with the switch. I think if I fix the switch I should get my .3 and 3mph back.
The bad news is when I changed back to street tires, I saw cords showing on the Hoosiers so I need some new tires before my next trip to the track. :(
