Leak at rear of intake

I had high blms so took out trusty smoke machine. First leak was at egr valve. Replaced the valve, now I see lots of smoke coming somewhere from rear of engine, possibly the intake. Is there anything I can smear on it to seal it, at least temporarily, to confirm where the leak is? I was thinking maybe plumbers putty. Something more permanent would be preferred. Car idles like crap until it is warmed up, and got a code 44 lean O2 sensor. Thanks.

Grape jelly? Not cool dude! Everyone knows that peanut butter works better for sealing intake leaks.

OK, sorry about the peanut butter joke. But the grape jelly one got me going. You can try a product "the right stuff" which is a thick black sealant. You could smear a bead where the plenum sits on the intak at the rear. It might help a little with the leak to test and see if the BLM's come down. But with the boost I would think it would blow out. Be careful tightening the bolts on the intake as the aluminum threads will strip easily.
