yep i was there... i parked next to Pete Hoffman and Dennis Kirban on the vendor row across from our club tent... thats crazy we were at the same motel. Did you drive your car?

I walked past that area probably 30 times, back and forth to GBody, Caspers, GNS, Tin Man, etc. I was in the tent with Don Cruz, Jason White, JD, Patrick.
My car is at the painter right now stripped to bare metal, was supposed to be done for BG.

Hey Peter - i just installed the radiator too and i must say - cooling definitely is NOT a problem;).
i do know from the install though i am almost positive that i cannot fit TWO huge fans with my intercooler.... i am glad i didnt order those yet... but however i think i may be able to fit one large and one small... if the small is on the R [passenger] side. What are your thoughts on a hybrid fan/shroud combo - with one high flow one reg flow fan?

Will do. Just got the harness back from Caspers so going to do some final testing and should be good to go.

i have been working on the car for a few mos. [more like 6-7] ... with lots of delays from powder coaters and parts people... well i finally got everything and have been wrenching 3days straight and decided to make it to BG.... well i am here..... with some issueso_O

1) i have developed a weird and annoying rattle, to me it sounds like its coming from the tranny but i did not do any work in that area... i double checked all the TC bolts and they are nice and tight.... seems to go away in Neutral and while cruising

2) i have been experiencing a hard start problem... dont know why - never had this issue...FP is good and i hope it is getting good spark.... which leads me to

3) replaced the Ignition system with Bob's TR6... dont know if its related but - SOMETIMES - while cruising on the highway the tach signal stays at 1000 and then randomly shoots up to 3000 or 2000...it looks like a graphic equalizer... when this happens it will die at idle..... other times the tach signal is fine and it will idle fine


help a brotha out....


oh and the things i did were replace Heads/Gaskets with some stock ported i had laying around, replaced rocker arms and installed the TR6...and removed EGR - everything else was just removed for detailing

Just wanted to update this thread... its been a week since BG and i finally had some down time to sort the car out....

1) The weird annoying rattle turned out to be the mini-starter i rushed to put on right before i left for BG...the pinion gear must have been making contact with the flywheel sometimes and making weird noises and vibrations.

2) The hard start turned out to be the cam sensor slightly out of adjustment.... it had been running fine this way for years.... which leads us to

3)...the only reason i knew the cam sensor was out of adjustment was because of Bob's ingenious TR-6 box which must be a lot more sensitive then stock components .... i troubleshooted it with the cam phasing setting and adjusted it and now it starts just as it used too.... the idle issue was just bad luck... my IAC was crapped out and the pintle was stuck

thks to all that responded.

now hopefully i can start tuning and driving again.

the stock stuff is just really stupid..... :) The TR6 just wants it to be "right".
