Understandable and as I mentioned will will get this resolved, While normally I am not I will be personally involved in this one.

This is BS! Those boost valves are smaller than the ones installed in a stock high performance vb. If you want to avoid a lot of headaches id do the following:
Call CK and order a MCSS vb and governor. Code CZ
Get a reaclibration kit from him too. He has some new boost valves coming out soon. .555. Id get a .296 low boost valve too.
Verify the servo is adequate.

I cant believe they call that a high performance build. I would put more into that if it was for the family station wagon. Lol!. I think ive only encountered a pressure regulator like that in a non performance application.

No to pour fuel on the fire but you have a $350-400 rebuild there on a core worth about $100.

Vendor has agreed to cover return shipping and start over on the build, I just need to decide when I'm ready to pull it again.
I am getting pretty tired of dropping $50 in fluid everytime I R&R it.

This is good. If he has any tech info he needs on the 200 tell him to contact us here via PM. What is your intended rpm range?

The few times that it will actually get to the track I'll probably be shifting around 5800rpm, valves start to float around 6100rpm. Yank SS3200 converter is supposed to be a good match with my Comp 282XR hyd roller cam, that's yet to be seen as I need to get the trans healthy first to see just how good it is. Rear gear is 3.73 so there will be plenty of grunt the the 406.

You could get away with more gear if you wanted it. Regardless the pump slide spring will need to be much stronger than anything that was installed in a 200 from GM for that rpm.

Clutch pack picture. Gap in front is 1/8" to 3/16". Looks to be a stock 6 friction pack.

Yeah, 6 is stock and fine here, and you need clearance because it is being driven through on all gearsa but manual 1st and reverse.
You could stack 4 plates in there and make a special apply plate or stack steels and it would be fine on a non-transbrake application, or even 2 on a drag only deal. Or delete them completely for a top end only deal with no reverse ;)

At this rate I'll know the trans inside and out. Nothing wrong with that.
Pump pic attached, don't know if there is more than one pump p/n, probably has more to do with assy technique than anything.

Trans has made the trip back across country and is back in the vendor's hands.
Hopefully we'll get this resolved in the next week.

Trans is back, will be going in tomorrow morning. Hopefully test driving Sunday morning.

DRW Transmissions / Donnie Wang

Finally got wise and went with a well known local vendor. Couldn't be happier with the product or service. DRW/Donnie did a great job for me and at a great price.
Finally I can check this box as complete!

Len! You've got to post a picture of the car too.

And finally it runs as good as it looks, the timing was off a bit the other day when we took it for the test drive.

Dang! It ran good on the test drive, except for the dying going into gear. It runs better? You have one cool ride there.

Yeah, it was retarded a few degrees and that was the issue with it loading at idle, bumped it up and it cleared right out.

Len,
Good deal. I knew Don could get you taken care of.
Did you get your $ back from the original vendor?

Don,
Nice looking trans, do you bead blast the cases?
