So the guy that is painting my GN has some pretty cool works in progress in his shop at the moment including a VERY nice LS7-powered '67 Camaro. I took some pics of it along with the other cars being worked on when I dropped off my car this afternoon.

This time around, it's mostly cosmetic changes / upgrades. The car is getting torn apart and painted allllll black. There will be a few cosmetic changes made. No emblems or moldings will be going back on the car. The gauge on the hood is going away. I also have a HID headlight conversion and the LED tail light kit for the car. All of the lenses will be tinted and possibly the headlights as well. The Monte Carlo SS style exhaust is getting canned and a more stock looking cat-back is going in its place. Plus any needed gaskets and seals are getting replaced.
For the interior, I hope to get rid of that horrid digital dash and get my GNX cluster installed along with the 3-gauge pillar replacement and the 2-gauge console pod. I decided instead of going with the original Stewart Warner gauges used in the GNX that I would go a more custom route using gauges from Speedhut. This way my dash gauges will match the pod gauges. And they will have a stock-looking, yet custom-touch appearance to them (if that makes any sense). Also, some stereo work may get done in this stage as well.

The bulk of the work will be exterior with some minor interior. Later on, once I decide what route I want to go from a performance angle, I'll start that stage. And the interior will be redone later on once I decide what seats and console I will ultimately use in the car.

Make sure you know what you're getting into with tinted lenses. I had my tails tinted for about a year when it occurred to me that I don't need an idiot driver rear-ending me and making some BS excuse that they couldn't see my lights, that would be an uphill battle to defend yourself in court. Tinted lights look great but think about how other drivers could use it against you in an accident. Just my two cents.

Thanks for the heads-up. I actually was a bit worried about that, too. But I don't think I am going to go completely black, more a light-to-medium tint. And I figure with LED bulbs, they should still be bright enough to compensate any dimming that may occur with tint (I hope, anyway).

Gorgeous car you've got there, BTW.

This is a little of topic but,What size is the building your in?
I'm not sure how big that shop is. Big enough for 5 cars, a bunch of parts and a big paint booth. I'll try to remember to ask the owner what the dimensions are of the shop.
