MAF reading

my scanmaster G is reading 5 on the maf when the car is off. i was thinking it should be 0.
is this a problem?

Turn the key on but don't crank the engine. Put the Scanmaster on MAF and slowly push the gas pedal to the floor.


If the reading increases, you have a problem. That means the ECM is making up numbers so the car will run.

the MAF will never read 0, it either reads the sensor (with a min reading set in the chip), or it reads the backup mode calculation based primarily on throttle position.

stock maf is off and now i'm going to set up the translator. Is the Delhi mass airflow sensor AF10043 a 85mm or a 3.5 ls1 maf?

That's the 85mm MAF

That means the ECM is receiving data from the MAF. Since the number is static, the ECM isn't having to make up stuff.
