About 5 years ago I put on an early SMC alc kit.Old Presurised tank single nozzle kit.
Was probably running 105 mph back then.
Was able to run the controler at max volume very soon after getting it.
Now am running 120mph plus.
Question is how much more alc could I be taking advantage of ?

If a little is good than too much is never enough ?

A lot more. A really lot more :D

Dont know if you can flow enough with the 5 year old pump tho. A bigger pump.. be amazed what you can do.

So no one has experience upgrading to a much bigger system ?

My old SMC system has the boost fed tank, so the pump may be small by todays standards, but it does not have to push against an extra 25# of boost.

I was thinking of going to a new w.washer tank, surflo pump, new lines & 2 nozzles with the present controler.
But after all this it may be better to sell old kit & buy a new progeressive one ?

Thanks for the original post razor, but I was hoping to get more info, such as went from this volume of alc to this & saw this amount of difference. Etc

Probably wont get much back to back results like your looking for.

BUT, you should be able to compare your MPH at max alc volume with your old kit.....to someone elses results who has more alcohol flow, eg. dual nozzles, progressive systems, etc.

Remember that you can keep adding more until your running your engine on alcohol alone, completely phasing out or replacing the gasoline. So yes you will be able to take advantage of more alcohol.

There are plenty of people running 120plus on pump gas and alcohol.

Any knock seen due to octane can be elimated increasing the alcohol amount into the motor. Up the timing..see some knock.. add alky, pull fuel.. badabing.. done.

I was running 30 degree's timing first gear, 26 degree's 2/3 at 28 PSI on my old car on pump gas and alcohol.

So if you see knock, the fix is add alcohol. Via nozzles, bigger pumps, etc..

If the car runs 12.0 knock free, adding alky provides practically nothing. Add boost, timing, etc.. that make it knock when the cylinder temps/pressures come up..then you can run in the 10's IF the rest of the supporting hardware is there to support the power.

I ran 112mph with the older style kit you are talking about, can't believe it's alredy 5 years old. But with what Razor says, I need a bigger pump. I can't run anything more than 19° timing with 25# boost. Maybe with a bigger pump I could run as much or more timing than I could with C16 (26°). Would like to buy a new progressive kit to see what I could run then!;)
